Vista install UI? It changed with Windows 8, in pretty sure. And you wouldn't expect them to care about the install UI at this point anyway, we're still far from RTM or even RCs.

Xbox app, huh? I wonder if they'll be positioning Xbox as a competitor program to Steam eventually (like a GFWL that doesn't suck), what with all that platform integration they're doing. Like going backwards from the Steambox to Steam the program.

It's asymmetry is really bugging me for some reason.

Us here in India and other non-US countries got stuck with the Cortana robot voice instead of Jen Taylor, which kinda pisses me off.
That having been said, it does a great job of voice recognition for about 95% of the commands I give it, which is nice. I hope it comes with Office integration - imagine how nice (or catastrophic) it would be to have a voice activated slide presentation.

The only thing they changed was the title bar and background, the process of installation and the general appearance is still the same (those 'aero' style buttons look awful now).

The tech community urged microsoft to keep the name and also strived for Jen Taylor

Not bad. If they sell it for a lump sum like they always have, let me disable Cortana(I'll never use her and in fact don't even own a mic for my desktop), and leave the UI alone I might very well swap over to W10 someday.

Some people like being able to just [i]tell[/i] their computer to do things. Other people seem to think it's easier to shout your search query into the mic four times rather than just type it out(My roomy does this with his android phone, drives me nuts), others will use it for presentations and note recording and such.
It has its uses.

Why have an option to disable cortana when the only place she'll be in is search, hell she is only activated when you press the blue button or if you say "cortana" (idk if this already happens but wouldn't be surprised If it uses voice detection)

iOS and Mac intertwine with each other, why can't windows? Hell even Google is linking android, chromeOS and its web apps under one roof
Unity is the trend right now, if all your platforms are all over shop like windows is right now then nothing works
