People give their animals drugs and think it's alright?

I was looking at facebook and came across the following status "It really pisses me off hearing about people who get their pets "high" or giving them E pills. It's not funny, it's cruel."
and I thought to myself Who the fuck does such a thing?
And then I saw THIS as a reply in the comments
"'i get my dog high all the time. he asks for it. not just from me but other room mates too. that doesnt mean i feed my dog e pills (id never do that) or anything like that, but animals need pot just as much as humans do too"
Like what the fuck? How can anyone say that their dog WANTS to get high. I was completely unaware people were retarded enough to actually think their animal wants to do drugs. Then someone started arguing about Catnip, saying that giving your animal weed is better than giving it catnip?
Then this was another comment "but say your cat walks in the room while your smoking weed, gets the effects and then the next time you s...moke weed he comes in the room for more. that was not against his consent. Some animals do like getting high, my friend's cat does that all the time, hence why we call him stoner cat. Also, Catnip is a distant cousin to weed, it's basically weed for cats but with negative effects in long term use."
I was particularly offended by this, because there's not a proper logical conclusion that the cat is coming in solely based on the fact that he wants to get high, it was pretty much projecting them WANTING to think their cat wanted to get high on his actions.
Anyone else seen stuff like this?

I hear dogs are pretty cool when they're high. Some great stories to tell. Dogs, despite their outer stupidity, are actually awesome, laid back intellectuals whom, unlike the arrogant cat bastards, just want to chill and enjoy life. I know. My friend's dog was like that.
My dog always gets really nuzzly, hungry and relaxed when he's high.
Giving animals stuff like E or coke is retarded, though. Completely different ballpark.

there's nothing wrong with getting your pet high so long as you know they aren't afraid of it or anything.
Giving random pills to your pets to make them high seems like a good way to kill them.

Cats really do get high, no joke
My dog loves pot, but absolutely despises my cigarette smoke. Most of the time he merrily waltzes in the room and starts licking my face for it. But there is no way in hell I'd give him rolls. I'm not sure it'd have the same affect as it does on humans, but I'm no expert in that area.

It's not terrible to see how it effects them just once. At this point people know that weed relaxes most dogs.
I don't see the problem if you want to relax them and make them feel good.
