Doctors in China saved a man's partially-severed finger - by attaching it to his stomach.Furniture worker Wang Yongjun, 20, cut off the end of his middle finger with an electric saw in an accident at work.Wang, of Liaoyang, Liaoning Province, was rushed to hospital where doctors had to think fast.Dr Huang Xuesong said the muscle and skin had been cut away from the end of his finger leaving only the bone showing."We had to make a quick decision or he could have lost his finger. We decided to cultivate a new fingertip on his stomach," he said.Doctors operated and attached Wang's finger to his stomach in the hope that new skin and muscle would grow around it.Dr Huang said the technique was a way of restoring blood circulation to the injured finger so that the body could repair itself. He says the surgery was a complete success and that Wang would have a brand new fingertip - separated from his stomach - within a month.
While I'm happy for him, that picture is disgusting.
Fairly misleading title, but yay for medical science.
I want one now...
Heh, as gross as it is. It's still fucking cool.
Awesome that it's temp until it grows back.
Will he have a fingernail there?
That is both incredibly ingenious, and incredibly disgusting

No, but he will have a finger.
so where's my second dick
So you got the first one chopped off than?
They actually used the same procedure on my brother. Fairly common I've heard. His thumb got cut off while using a circular saw. The doctors then reattached the bit that was cut off, reattached some of the nerves and sewed the thumb to his stomach so the tissue would heal better and there'd still be circulation in his finger.
It actually healed pretty well. The only thing is that he can't bend his thumb anymore because the joint in his thumb became a solid bone in the process.
I heard you could grow foreskin the same way with this
(don't ask me why I know this)
So how long until we can augment ourselves?
So how long until we can augment ourselves?
until they mastered how to make the augmented body parts move and react as fast a normal body part
and make it safe to use
that's pretty cool and not disgusting at all
I wonder if you could create fleshy appendages on any other parts of the body...
I am sure body modification communities would try it.

They've been doing this since WW1

But soon his followers can grow face tentacles on their stomach

Fitting avatar.
frickim' hot, chicks must love it!:v:
That's clever. I was more in awe than disgust seeing that picture.
So if i understand this correctly they will cut off the stomach skin at some point leaving tissue around the previously exposed bone. A bit like a super band aid.
I wonder what that looks like when it's done.

Oh so the actual tip is used? I see.
That's quite handy.
Wait no. That's smart.
thats disgusting.

You have so much use for your dick you need a second one?
That's just... ingenious.
Granted, I'm not a doctor, but no way in a million years I would have thought of saving the finger using skin from your stomach.
I would have just told him he's screwed.
Thank fucking god I'm not a doctor.

"Doctor! I cut off my finger!"
"You have cancer."
