• Hottest October on record for Britain

The record has been broken for the hottest October in Britain where temperatures today reached 29.5c (85.1f), beating the previous record of 29.4, 26 years ago. England's temperatures topped Athens, L.A, and Barcelona, with the Met Office saying it could reach 30c by mid afternoon. But it was a different story in Scotland with rain, and temperatures barely topping 17c. In Brighton alone, Visit Brighton predicted that 300,000 sun-seekers would flock to the seafront over the weekend. "The highest temperatures will be more concentrated in southern England, and they will still be in the mid to high 20s in London and the surrounding areas." Cant agree more, my house wont cool down.
For other countries that are wondering, our houses are designed to keep heat in to reduce heating costs, and we don't buy air conditioning because it's not warm enough normally to bother
Yeah. This was nice for a day or two, then the heat just got massively annoying to me. Also, Weren't we meant to have a cold snap in this month sometime?
I hear that we are getting snow this month aswell. Make your mind up weather.
Suck it October 1985, we beat you by 0.1c
Yeah it's pretty hot here as well , 29ºc max 17 min
Been raining in Scotland all day and its cold.
One day into October and we instantly broke a record
Weather is so weird this year. So.. Extreme.
I'll be honest when someone says 'Record breaking temperature', I expect something like High 30s/Low 40s not 0.1 higher than the previous highest.
I'll be honest when someone says 'Record breaking temperature', I expect something like High 30s/Low 40s not 0.1 higher than the previous highest.
We don't get high 30s any time of the year.
It's hot here too, mosquitos are everywhere.
That's like a normal day of October in Utah.
Been really clammy the last few days, expect it to start pissing with rain in the next couple of days though.
Isn't meant to cool down over the next week? By which I mean jesus christ I hope it cools down soon.
Denmark had a new record too at 25 point something degrees C.
We don't get high 30s any time of the year.
I know that, but come still I'd like it where the one time we beat a record, its actually something to be proud of.
Hot here in Holland as well. So glad I bought an air conditioning unit for my room a few years ago.
I bet someone's gonna come into this thread and go "hurr durr global warming". But yeah it's pretty hot here too, apparently the Danish records got broken as well.
I wish it wasn't do damn hot, it's just uncomfortable.
I don't think I've ever been happier to have this portable fan. :v:
Oh man you guys won't survive a second outdoors in my country
Wait, Britain is passed Oct 1st already or is this just a prediction?
What the fuck, we get 35c everyday down here.
Well, Indonesia is on the equator: [thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/05/Indonesia_%28orthographic_projection%29.svg/550px-Indonesia_%28orthographic_projection%29.svg.png[/thumb]
I bet someone's gonna come into this thread and go "hurr durr global warming". But yeah it's pretty hot here too, apparently the Danish records got broken as well.
More like Americans'll come in saying it's a cool day in X state.
And it's mutherfuckin' cold here. But probably because it's Illinois, and nothing goes right in Illinois.
More like Americans'll come in saying it's a cool day in X state.
It's really not though, Massachusetts is humid as fuck and it sucks.
I know that, but come still I'd like it where the one time we beat a record, its actually something to be proud of.
why would you be proud at all? it's the weather.
Been raining in Scotland all day and its cold.
not been raining in Edinburgh but it's pretty chilly yeah
