Kathleen Hartnett White, President Trump’s pick to serve as his top White House environmental official, told the Senate Wednesday that she had doubts about the link between human activity and climate change. “I’m not a scientist, but in my personal capacity, I have many questions that remain unanswered by current climate policy,” Hartnett White, Trump’s nominee to lead the White House’s Council on Environmental Quality, told senators Wednesday at her confirmation hearing. “I think we indeed need to have more precise explanations of the human role and the natural role.”
https://www.texastribune.org/2017/11/08/trumps-top-environmental-pick-says-she-has-many-questions-about-climat/ I'm not a scientist, but----
I’m not a scientist
Then withdraw your nomination, you crony bitch.
Noone buys your lies, you imbeciles. It's so obvious you want more money.
Noone buys your lies, you imbeciles. It's so obvious you want more money.
No. A lot of people do. Its depressing.
“I’m not a scientist, but..."
Then shut up? There is 99.9% scientific consensus: climate change is happening, and human activity is the cause. If you're not a scientist, you have no basis to argue otherwise. If you are a scientist, and somehow believe that climate change is not a result of human activity (or even worse: isn't happening at all), then you'd damn well better be able to present scientifically reproducible findings and a peer-reviewed study to back up your position, because that's how science works. Simply saying, "well, I don't know! Seems a little fishy if you ask me," is not a valid substitute for experimentation and research.
Nominating a person who's prior work includes lobbying against environmental regulations to the Council on Environmental Quality is the most Trump thing I've read all week.
"what is climate change?"
Don't have to drain the swamp if you turn the swamp into a desert?
I'm not a scientist, but----
"I'm not racist, but lemme just contradict what I just said"
Why is somebody with "many unanswered questions" in one of the highest positions of government office in the entire world
"I'm not a scientist" Goddamn, I mean goddamn, like what. How are you in that position then? Jesus F. Christ.

You know, the guy who comes out with "I don't have answers, but I certainly have a lot of questions..." every time anyone tries to counter his inane bullshit rambling. Of course they do though, they were voted in by people like that. It's shocking how such anti-science stances are accepted in politics. It should be career suicide to come out with this tripe.
“I think we indeed need to have more precise explanations of the human role and the natural role.”
Like I said in a previous thread, this is blatantly disingenuous. It's not logical believe that these unprecedented rates of global warming are caused by something else, which we apparently have no knowledge of, than humans, and not be panicking about the literal end of the world. If it isn't us, then what the fuck is going on and will it ever end?
Why is somebody with "many unanswered questions" in one of the highest positions of government office in the entire world
Because we don't have proper restrictions on who's allowed to serve in our government, so stupid shit like this happens. The second this woman admitted, "I'm not a scientist," she should've been barred from this position. Legally prohibited from holding it. Same thing for that 36-year-old guy who has never even tried a case and is up to possibly become a lifetime Supreme Court judge. It's absurdity that exists for no reason. [editline]11th November 2017[/editline] We also have a society that's woefully uneducated and full of people who are "tired of experts"; they're more than happy to support somebody like this.
"I'm not a scientist" Heres an idea then. When Trump catches something or falls ill, lets hire an accountant to treat him. Same principle so...
You don't need to be a scientist to understand basic concepts.
Nominating a person who's prior work includes lobbying against environmental regulations to the Council on Environmental Quality is the most Trump thing I've read all week.
the us is going to have to introduce some sort of quality control for all nominees. its like making the person who hates dogs, has been the leader of the kool kats klub, making them the leader of the dog union.
“I’m not a scientist, but in my personal capacity, I have many questions that remain unanswered by current climate policy,”
Perhaps you should to talk to some who are well-versed in this area of study before making any important decisions.
Its gonna be "this snowball disproves climate change" all over again.
Assigning people like this to these kinds of positions is like assigning a Wolf to be the chief of Sheep rights and safety
I have plenty of questions about climate change too. Like what should we be doing to prevent it and why aren't we doing everything we can to fix the problem before it comes back and bites us in the asses resulting in our extinction and possibly that of every other lifeform on the planet.
Why does it always seem to be the same one when people have "many questions" about climate change.

Blatantly rejects science, co-authored a book called "Fueling Freedom: Exposing the Mad War on Energy", gets appointed as environment advisor... Yeah, that's about as overtly evil as I've come to expect.

"Im not a scientist but, let me tell ya, it's great that my party goes off of fee-fees instead of facts."
It's cool guys, when there's no more snow and we're dying left and right, there won't be any snowballs to "disprove" climate change so is k.
Jesus christ
"There's multiple right answers" Just look at the poor guy's face.
Jesus christ
By her own admission, she does "not have any kind of expertise, or even any layman's study" in basic environmental science, and yet she has been nominated to lead the Council on Environmental Quality. We are in the Dark Ages of American politics.
It's become impossible to parody this shit. It's so bad. Fuck me.
