I'm surprised no-one has made a thread on this yet, so I guess I'll do it.

Brief Summary of Doctor Who
Doctor Who is a science-fiction television programme that originally ran on the BBC from 1963 to 1989. A television movie was co-produced with Universal Pictures in 1996, after which the series itself was revived starting in March 2005 in the United Kingdom and Australia, and in March 2006 in the United States on the Sci Fi Channel (and, as of 2009, BBC America). It is still in production as of 2010.
Doctor Who is about the adventures of a mysterious time-traveller known only as the Doctor. The Doctor travels through space and time in a craft known as the TARDIS, an acronym for "Time and Relative Dimension in Space". The Doctor is usually accompanied by one or more companions, who are often attractive females. The tone of the programme varies from serious to comic, from gothic horror to pantomime camp. The original Doctor Who series is fondly remembered among the general public both for frightening monsters (such as the Daleks and the Cybermen) and pioneering use of both electronic music and low-budget special effects.
First Appearance:The DaleksDoctor:First Doctor

Overview
The Daleks were created by the Kaled scientist, Davros as travel machines. He had deduced that the years of radiation and chemical poisoning from an ongoing war would lead his race to mutate into immobile organisms.
The Dalek travel machines would house these creatures and allow the Kaleds to survive. However, in the course of his experiments, Davros deliberately removed what he considered to be debilitating emotions from the mutants and a force of evil was spawned!
The Daleks were born without any ability to feel compassion or pity and were motivated only by hate, fear and an implacable belief that they were the superior creatures in the Universe.

I'm really looking forward to the episodes in the next series since Moffet worked on some of the best episodes in the previous series. Let's hope he keeps up to standard!
If anyone wants me to add anything, let me know.
I've watched this a few times. I'm not crazy about it but it's alright!
Eh, I don't really like the new Doctor, I guess I've gotten so used to David Tennant.
Plus the new Doctor looks like a fag.
I would agree with you, but we've not seen Matt in action yet. Jury's not out till 3 episodes into the new season.
Watching this right now.
I prefer the David Tennat doctor. If his personality is the same, it'll be fine then.
Tennant is my favourite Doctor too. But at least the new companion is hot, with a scottish accent to top it off :buddy:
Christopher Ecclestone was the best.
I liked Tennant....he was the best one (He was voted the best, thats not just me saying that)
Even if Matt Smith isn't as good as David Tennant, Stephen Moffat is taking over from Russell T Davies which should be great!
The Girl in the Fireplace
Human Nature
The Family of Blood
Blink
Silence in the Libary
Forest of the Dead
they're probably my favourite episodes/
i love David Tennant and have met him him person,(shook his hand:O ) nice guy. i saw him in Hamlet, he was awesome and as funny as ever.
i don't think i'll like matt smith :/ though i'm gonner try and give him a chance, as i was like this when David Tennant showed up after Christopher Eccleson (loved him too)
^ Girl in the fireplace is also one of my favourites :D
Matt Smiths doctor will be like an older man trapped in a younger body. This means people like Churchill and The Daleks sometimes don't take him so seriously. This was leaked the other day. Along with the huge amount of comedy writers on the next series. and the fact the first episode of series 5 has [sp]A fantastic plot about mixing in time, but an mind controlling ice cream truck[/sp]. Series 5 is going to end up being a Comedy-Sci-Fi.
But with the best writer taking the helm, a damn good actor, some strong plots, a good returning villain and a companion he doesn't want to fuck. Series 5 may be really fucking good. Hell, a lot of actors have come out and said how dark it is.
Eurgh...Daleks?

I think Doctor Who is at it's best when it has darker story arcs.
When does the series with the new doctor start in America?
For that matter, will we ever get those four "special episodes" or whatever they were? Or did I miss them?
I hope I didn't miss them. :saddowns:
God I can't wait for the next series
New guy has the biggest forehead.
Whats the music in the trailer called?
Daleks? Are you taking the piss?!
Victory of the Daleks? do they win the time war after so long, or does The Doctor screw up their plans right at the last second?
Let's be fair, it wouldn't be Doctor Who without Daleks; they're the most iconic part of the program apart from the Tardis. They may be old, but they're pretty essential to have in my opinion.

They've been overused. I swear that in an interview, Moffat said he wasn't going to include any old enemies in the new series.

He did say that, but he said excluding the Daleks.

You can order them from amazon on DVD.
Don't like the new logo, looks very 70s
I've lost count of how many time the Doctor wiped out the Daleks forever. Can't they just stay dead for one season? The Cybermen are still a threat, not to mention countless other Dr. Who baddies, the Daleks are overused now.
Is it easter that the new series is coming out?
I look forward to seeing what this new fangled doctor has to make as good as tennant.

They need to be established as a universal threat like they were in the old series, so that we don't have to have RTD style plots (made out of 150% plotholes) explaining how they come back.
I live with a 3 and a half year old who is absolutely obsessed with Dr. Who
I got netflix and watched an episode of it on my 360. I watched Blink, it was really good. But now I feel like I'm not gonna like any other ones cause they all have a different scifi feel.
