Went to the highest mountain around (königsstuhl in heidelberg germany 586 metres) pulled out my baritone acoustic and played a little bit for the people that were around and my brother  Everybody liked it, im glad they did :v: My fingers were icecold and I wasn't playing precise because of that. My brother recorded one song with my smartphone, the quality is pretty shite in comparison to my other stuff but it's enjoyable anyways
This is my song "Phenomena" which will be recorded soon in high quality

fixed it, made an edit mistake 3 times in a row now :v:
Your song has a real groove to it, very nice. I like how low the tuning is too. What bari acoustic are you playing?

Thank you, it's the alvarez abt60e, the most affordable baritone acoustic avaible right now  the version with electronics that I play here did cost me 450€.
Man I wish I had such a great private place to play as you do, I'm confined to play on headphones pretty much entirety of my time and you get to experience natural sound reverberation too.
Are you on Soundcloud?
OP, you said you'd only been playing for 4 weeks, right? How is that possible, you're awesome.
Any tips for someone who'd be interested in getting started? I love the sound of Acoustic
No it's literally impossible that he's been playing for 4 weeks. Playing percussively for 4 weeks was what he said I think.

Oh man that sounds sad as hell.. I couldn't bare to do that all the time. Do you live in a big city? If you can take your acoustic somewhere to a park to noodle around on it then do it. What's your situation?

I played percussive for about 5 weeks now, I started to play guitar 9 years ago and learned several other instruments in the mean time  that's all contributing to fast progress.
Starting with an acoustic guitar is quite the best and most affordable entrance to the guitar world that you can make. Good acoustic guitars already start at 100€ which is an amazing price for an instrument you will always progress on in your life. A clip-on tuner to put onto the headstock costs about 15€ which is a must and then you are set, google is literally your best friend in learning instruments
Is it better to teach myself, or would learning through a teacher be better?
Is it better to teach myself, or would learning through a teacher be better?
I can't really tell you that, I learned it all by myself. I had nobody to show me any techniques or anything but google and youtube. In my personal opinion starting to learn guitar by your own is very possible and actually a good thing aswell. Starting traditional instruments like violin etc. should be learned through a teacher if that's your first instrument.
you can teach yourself, but having a teacher doesn't hurt. I haven't been to a teacher and I've been playing for about 2 and a half years, progressing just fine.

I'm playing electric, which leaves me confined in one place. I might even get acoustic or even classical.

You can't go wrong with an acoustic, good ones start at 100€ already and although im a metal guy and I normally record metal albums, acoustic guitar is still my most played instrument.

I play a lot of metal too although my ears get adjusted too quickly to distortion, you eventually lose sense in what you end up playing and if you play it correctly, can't go wrong with cleaner sound, you can hear so much more and chords actually sound way different from one another, tiny bit of dirtiness is still good too. I still need to get fairly good audio interface but not expensive either, I like to record myself a bit and jam on top of it.
This is pretty great. You could hardly find a better shot to compliment that sound, they just fit perfectly.
Shit negro
That's some andy mckee/don ross shit right there
I would have killed to smoke a blunt in the sunlight as you played that piece
I've also played guitar for quite a while now and I've been oogeling these baritone guitars. I have a shitty acoustic fender laying around and I've been thinking about putting baritone strings on it and tuning it in dropped C, but I wonder if the guitar would cope with the tension anyway. Have you ever tried something like this? I thought of it as a little experiment to see if I want to invest in a baritone guitar or not.

It will probably be impossible to intonate the guitar properly, but still
Oh fuck its beautiful. I think its the acoustics of the forest that really does it wonders.

You can do that but you would need to modify a lot on your guitar and returning back would be a bit of a hassle. I would not recommend doing that tho, you still need a bigger scale length to keep those low tunings safe. Now you said dropped C and that's actually quite possible, on my fender acoustic im playing DADGAD in C# which is almost a drop C and with a 56 stringset it's alright. You could find a stringset with an 60 string and go dropped C, that should work!
Also you can't just tune down an acoustic guitar and see if you the "baritone" sound would suite you, playing this jumbo baritone with the longer neck and then changing to my fender are different worlds. The baritone rings and shines plus it haves way more volume and bass, combine that with a steel pick and you have the probably most beautiful acoustic guitar sound you ever heard in real life.

man you put out the neatest shit
Thanks for the very kind words, love you all seriously.
Do you guys think I can make a small amount of money by performing on the streets in a big city with this stuff? I would like to wait till I get more confident with what I do but I am totally broke and on the level of starving because of money problems. My bank account haves 2€ left and I have no job starting by next month, that's why I thought that I need to hurry get some food money on the street with this stuff.
Could it work out?
Go for it. People only hate street performers if they suck.
Am I seriously the only person who came here expecting to see a guitar get destroyed on a tree stump?
