Hi, I will try hard not to sound dumb.
But oh my god this is bad, seriously. I just hate people that would even consider using this. I really do hate illagal downloaders, it is stealing from the people that actually bothered with the PC community.
"because of piracy, sales of PC games were four to five times weaker than console games. As such, Crytek would be making multiplatform games from then on. Piracy had killed Crytek’s wish to remain PC exclusive. He later stated that the sales to piracy ratio was one to fifteen or twenty. Under those conditions, it’s no wonder he wanted to make the jump to consoles."

Thanks you filthy pigs for killing what PC had left.
If you are wondering why we never get good games anymore then look no further, I wish Valve could exterminate all illegal torrents, if I was Valve, being a succesful and slightly wealthy company I would put a case on these torrent sites such as thepiratebay and close them down, It's just unfair for the people who actually pay for their PC games.
And just as you thought the solution to piracy is steam games, well, nope. :(
Those filthy scum bags are at it again making an alternative illegal client. This is direct robbing and it even has online multiplayer for the stolen games. (smartsteam)
If some of you are wondering what smart steam is, here is a video I found on the internet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLEsdVVoErQ
Please Valve, shut this thing down it's unacceptable to the PC community

Filthy Italian scumbags
I've talked with some who pirate, and they use the excuse "I'm doing this because there's no demo." Then they play the whole game and end with the statement "I'll buy it if I like it."
It isn't the companies fault for piracy, it's the players.

Well that is kind of my philosophy. I don't want to go and buy a game that I have no idea whether I will like or not. And if you think that because of this I am some pirate scumbag here is a screenshot of my steam.

And that's how many games I have not counting all the retail ones I have bought. Now I know not everyone is like this and many wont buy the game after they "tried". So yea I agree, its mainly the really cheap players fault who don't want to support the development of the games they like.
ugh yes i know
origin is way better anyway, don't let steam monopolize everything...

ea is better than what you pricks accuse it of being anyway
The biggest problem I have with downloading vs. buying from the company is when I buy a music CD from somewhere and rip it to my PC it will almost always be:
Track 01
Track 02
Track 03
...
It's amusing when you look through all the albums on my cellphone because those that have album art are all downloaded...
Also if I want to get the album art of from iTunes store I have to give out my creditcard number. When downloading there is no way in hell I'm gonna have to give it out.
Does this mean that Steam has to change their entire server encryption and account authorization techniques? If so, fuck, no wonder gaben's not releasing any games with "3" in them any time soon.

You can't blame Crysis' sales purely on piracy. You have to remember that back in the day, Crysis' system requirements were so huge that most of the market was incapable of running the game to begin with. And the decision for putting Crysis 2 on consoles was more of an accessibility decision so the people with the computers that couldn't handle it could still play it on their Xbox or Playstation.
As for smartsteam, I am certain valve already knows about it. I used it to play the Left 4 Dead demo with my friends when it was only available to pre-orderers during that 3 day period. Valve has even recently made a statement (even last year they did so) claiming piracy is not a problem for them. Now I am sure a hefty portion of their income has to do with their share of sales on the games sold on steam, but what Gabe Newell claimed even a year or two ago was that piracy is an accessibility problem. That people who pirate are finding it easier to play the game than buying it. An example he provided was that if someone wanted to buy the latest season of Dr. Who, but wasn't available in their country yet as it was only being sold in the UK, they would have to turn to piracy to get it.

That shouldn't be an issue. Being able to produce for all platforms should be standard. The fact there is even a division in the first place, ha
I see a video of someone claiming to have all games, but only showing their names. Nothing installed, nothing running. Just a list of games. This proves nothing, and is most likely a hoax.
Like I am pretty sure Notch said at one point, just because someone pirates a game does not mean a lost sale because they probably were not going to buy it in the first place.
OP is an idiot that doesn't understand how sale/piracy figures don't matter.
As a kid i used to pirate some games.
Now that i have the money i buy them.
It's not like they really had loses because of me.. I couldn't have afforded the games back then anyway..
In fact.. i sometimes buy classics now that i pirated back in the day because i want to play them again.

It was possible to get all the steam games a while ago, but it probably doesn't work anymore.
