Does anyone else become a much better writer with more in-depth ideas whilst high? My imagination is expanded and crevices "unlock" when I'm blazed. Also, I need some advice. My dad thinks I'm a fuck up because my 2nd semester grades weren't that good. I was good 1st semester, however. He also thinks I sell drugs (i'm on/off on serving cluckers). I aspire to become a writer, either in children story's or to do what I think I am meant to do: write a new character for Marvel/DC comics that brings new attributes to the super-hero world. Ever since I was a kid I was greatly inspired by Spider-Man. Practically ever since birth he was my favored hero. Also, if Stan Lee made it from nothing; so can I, right? Bottom-line: do you think someone like me can make it? I have great ideas, but I'm only a junior in high school. I don't know where to go for school or how to achieve this goal. The talk my dad gave me made me kind of depressed, so any words can help.
my teachers in the past would love it when we wrote under influence. as far as making it as a writer...ide say take a motorcycle trip across america and write about it whie making some things up...stuff like that to distinguish yourself
My friend wrote an SCP like story when he was high for english and the teacher said it was the best story a student had ever given him. But yeah of course you become a better writer when you're high, as long as you can manage to not trail off, which can be difficult and it pretty much why I don't write and prefer to draw.

Unfortunately realistically you don't have much of a chance cause there are so many talented writers that the chances of an editor or tv studio or whatever stumbling across your stuff are very slim. It's been said many times but it can't be stressed enough it's more about who you know than your actual talent and that's just the sad truth. This applies to any media or art job, connections are vital.
While that may be true, connections are somewhat necessary, not all successful writers have had those connections. Anyway, my aspirations for this path outweigh the negatives in every way. The compliments on my writing I've gotten over the years has given me great confidence. My sophomore English teacher, an aspiring college professor, told me that my writing sticks out from everyone else's in a good way. He walked with me to my next class talking about my writing skills. In middle school, my literature teacher told me I should really look into writing as a profession, due to the quality and style of the final products of all my writing assignments. I don't know what will happen to this dream in the future, but I will try my hardest to get my work out there. Thank you for the depressing thoughts, though.
i have writing in my blood so.. but i do remember this one time in a class i was taking we were taking the halfway point break. basically everyone who attended the class (around 20 maybe 30 people) came outside. someone light a couple joints and put them in rotation. i got WAY to high. so when i came back in (10 minutes after everyone cause i was violently high) and started taking notes again i look at the notes next day and they look like alien glyphs?! wtf?
dude! i did that same shit one day in my notebook and my writing was so... not human like lol, a tall tale sign: you're extremely baked

Sorry if I came off as pessimistic but I was only trying to give you realistic insight so that you don't get your hopes up, I'm in the same situation as you. I'm not saying you shouldn't chase your dreams, I think you definitely should because I strongly believe in finding a career that makes you happy even if its difficult or you don't make as much, I'm just saying that you should have a backup plan ready in case things don't work out. But seriously though people need to stop worrying so much about money when looking for careers cause if you get one that makes you happy you only need to make enough to support yourself in the basic things like food, shelter etc because if you think about it most people spend the extra money from their miserable jobs for entertainment and the things they love to do so if you're already doing something you love for a living you won't need extra cash for entertainment.

depends on what i'm writing. if i'm writing an essay-type thing i can crank out a lot of ideas but it requires me to clean it up a lot later. if it's creative writing my writing is a lot better but i write much slower. [editline]8th August 2012[/editline] as for your issue: writing is a very in and out career to pursue. big time writers that are making a living off of book sales are often struggling between trying to produce quantitative content and qualitative content. i remember i read roald dahl said something along the lines of being a writer can be a living hell, because of the fact that you pick your hours and there are no deadlines. the stress of trying to crank out text for a publisher who is concerned only with content can diminish the quality of your writing and even life greatly. independent writing is a whole different story, and it's mostly luck in that business. i'm not saying you shouldn't chase your dreams, because doing otherwise could leave you unhappy in life. but just to put it into perspective: i've wanted to be a writer my whole life. i still love to do it, however i'm not going to college for it. when i get out of college hopefully i'll get a stable job and build a life for myself and pursue writing along the way. maybe once i'm married or have settled down or whatever the case is, then i could pursue being an author. that's only the way i look at it, it's not the only angle.
When I get high I forget to do any kind of work.
Smoking weed always envokes creativity. So anything art related is bound to be enhanced when you smoke. From music, writing, drawing. Just anything artsy in general.

I wish best of luck to you in the writing world, & I'll take those words into consideration in my future.
I plan to get high for writing the final draft for my english assignment this term. Just one saturday night, sit down, smoke an L and then get cracking onto that creative shit.
Whenever my band and i do a writing session we all get extremely high, write music for our respective instruments and put it together. It usually turns out pretty damn well
The last time I wrote while high, halfway through the introductory paragraph I wrote something relating to Rivers Cuomo and ended it with something that I believe said "LOOK AT ALL DIS KIEF ROTTIN IN THE GUTTAH WHOPPAH HOLLAS". I wish I still had the .txt file, but I formatted both my hard drives by accident when I got my new PC parts and unfortunately a file recovery was unsuccessful.
I wrote my final exams for English in highschool on mushrooms. Man I wish I had a copy of that. I actually did awesome on it.
i used leftover ecstasy to write a paper once. don't even ask.
aw fuck. Turns out that english assignment is due next monday. Well, lets get stoned.
Sweet Talker The sweetest of words pass through my lips, falling before deaf ears. Toothsome tongue twisters become a sucrose sarcophagus. With every fanciful fragment of myself conjured forth and eloquently hissed, I bury myself in words too heavy to drift upon the breeze; Cloistered by confectionery lunacy.
Generally I forget what im writing about every 30 seconds if its a paper or something but sometimes I come up with pretty good stuff when im fucked up. Wrote this while I was depressed and drunk, kinda fucked up but well this IS the internet. Choke me, spank me, pull my hair, You can fuck me anywhere. In my asshole, in my eye, I don't care I wanna die.
Sometimes I right better when I'm high , other times I just have so many ideas rushing me at once I need a recorder to just free flow everything out at once. I call it mars bars when I'm spittin blazed.
The shape shifter sits alone. Nobody wants to sit with someone who can show you what you look like to them. He’s never lonely, but then what is loneliness but being with nobody but yourself, and that’s never happened before. It’s like, what is play-doh supposed to look like if it weren’t busy looking like everything? With no certainty of physical form, how can One find any certainty that there’s one at all? How can One be expected to count every molecule that makes up who they are; it’s like trying to pick up a waxed marble with greased chopsticks.
