President Trump kicked off his holiday weekend at Mar-a-Lago Friday night at a dinner where he told friends, "You all just got a lot richer," referencing the sweeping tax overhaul he signed into law hours earlier.

The president himself on Sept. 13 — long before the bill was finalized — said the wealthy would not benefit from the GOP tax overhaul. "The rich will not be gaining at all with this plan. We are looking for the middle class and we are looking for jobs -- jobs being the economy," Mr. Trump said. At least he's wearing his true affiliations on his sleeve, I guess? This kind of attitude is something I'd expect from a president but I'd never expect one to say something like this in a way that could ever reach the press' ears. God he's dumb.
is there an emotion to describe a want to put one's fingers into their lower eye sockets and slowly peel off their facial epidermis because i feel nothing else
It's funny how they didn't even need to report this, we all assumed he said it.

Im sure his poor supporters will somehow justify this
Im sure his poor supporters will somehow justify this
I've been browsing t_D a lot lately to keep my ear to the ground. They defend the tax bill by saying that it lowers taxes paid by every income bracket, which is wildly uninformed and misleading but they're more interested in maintaining their hivemind than looking critically into anything.
Trump once again wrecks his party's own talking point and confirms the truth, that the tax bill was designed to benefit the very rich primarily. It's really rough being narcissistic - you'll say anything to win the respect and approval of the people in your immediate presence, at any given time, even if it means throwing others you'd previously been pandering to under the bus. This means you are terrible at handling deceptions because you'll blurt out the truth the instant it'll make you look good at that moment. Like this: Trump said what he needed to say to impress the rich people around him at his club dinner, and it was the truth.
Boy I sure do love my tax hike since I make about 30k a year.
The only thing you need to know to know what a scam this is is that the cuts for the lower and middle class are temporary while the massive cuts for the top 1% are permanent. They wouldn't have even bothered with the temporary cuts if they thought they could get away with such blatant theft. Trump celebrating with his multimillionaire friends just confirms that the GOP knew exactly what it was doing here. This was never meant to be a bill that helps out the Average Joe. This is a redistribution of wealth from the bottom to the top.
As if the wealth inequality in US wasn't already borderline fucking medieval peasant level.
Fiefdoms here we come!
Can't wait to work my ass off at the fields while living in a shitty ass wooden shack 24/7

There is just something poetic about the slavish adoration Trump's supporters helped him slide the knife into thier own backs.
There is just something poetic about the slavish adoration Trump's supporters helped him slide the knife into thier own backs.
So, would that be political masochism?
So, would that be political masochism?
Kinda looks like that doesn't it. It's like a political edging fetish. They just get off on being teased with something they know they'll never get.
As if the wealth inequality in US wasn't already borderline fucking medieval peasant level.
when the poor go hungry, they'll eat the rich.
when the poor go hungry, they'll eat the rich.
eat the hungry people.
when the poor go hungry, they'll eat the rich.
unfortunately they'll eat the other poor in the meantime, for basic survival
Who could've predicted a rich "businessman's" motive would be to help his rich buddies
If this was the 1790s, everyone in that room would end up under a guillotine. But it's not. So best we can do is show them in 2018 that the vote of the people is stronger than the greed of the 1%.
As if the wealth inequality in US wasn't already borderline fucking medieval peasant level.
Maybe those are the nebulous traditional values hardline conservatives are always spouting off about returning to and/or preserving A medieval status quo sure does seem to suit their values. Just swap out royal families with corporate dynasties
Who could've predicted a rich "businessman's" motive would be to help his rich buddies
Unless I'm mistaken, literally everyone as soon as he announced he was running.
B-but it's all gonna trickle down!
B-But he knows how the system works! He'll dismantle it!
It's been a little while since I've checked that old "list of people surprised" but I'm fairly sure it hasn't changed.
But her emails.
So, would that be political masochism?
They'd do anything to piss off "liberals", even as going so far as to doom themselves.
They'd do anything to piss off "liberals", even as going so far as to doom themselves.
Liberals complain about wealth inequality, so massive inequality has to be the right thing to do obviously. Otherwise the liberals would be.... *gasp*RIGHT
