I intend to learn how play acoustic guitar for the purpose of getting laid, problem is I don't have a guitar. How might I choose a quality instrument without spending a lot of money?
Thanks.

Short answer, you can't

Troll harder, or learn open chords

In my opinion and in the opinion of many, many, many, many other people this is the perfect example of the attitude of a massive loser. Quit while you still can.
1) Buy a steel stringed acoustic guitar. Not a classical/nylon stringed (they are not as suitable for chord strumming with picks, and chicks also dig the steel sound more). I'm not good at acoustic guitars, but go into a music store. Be willing to spend like at least $150 and you'll get something that will take you very far.
2) Learn all these:

3) Move onto Minor 7-chords and sus-chords.
4) Memorize the chord sequences of the current hot pop songs.
5) Learn to sing. This is very important!!
From here on you are on your own. If you suck at getting girls then no guitar playing in the world will help. So stay confident and stick with your plan!
you cant get laid with an acoustic
Dunno what the girls are like in your area, but over here acoustic guitar is infinitely more attractive than electric
Basically, basic chords of pop songs > highly skilled shredding
Basically this:
