Support for Labour has surged in Wales, with a massive 16-point shift in support towards Jeremy Corbyn's party, the latest poll shows.
A poll by YouGov just two weeks ago showed Welsh Labour trailing Theresa May's party, but a stunning reversal now puts Labour 10 points ahead.
Christ the schadenfreude if this election happens to annihilate the conservatives
The only reason I want British Labour to win is because I have friends in the UK that'd be fucked by the Conservatives. One hopes that they can win. It won't prevent Brexit but it might not make it as insane.
Cautious optimism turning into something more :doghidden:
Out of all places, I wouldn't have thought that Wales would do this.

Honestly I'm not too surprised. I think a lot in Wales are realising that Brexit is not good for them, particularly with the English nationalist rhetoric going through it.

You hit the nail on the head. Many us voted leave but completely forgot that Westminster has a track record of fucking us over more than Brussels ever did, and they're only waking up to it now that things are looking grim for our agriculture industry.

We in Ireland and Scotland may consider forgiving you and stop marking you as Minus Craic and invite you to the Great Union of Craic. Do you agree?

I think it's more a matter of labour taking votes from plaid, and now ukip is out of the picture people will vote back to their default votes.
I'm in a labour stronghold and this is good to hear.

Aye, but it better be called the Irn Brunion :v:
yo we got a real match
Honestly i'm not a huge fan of Brexit, I would like to think i'm almost outspoken on FP for thinking that it's a fucking stupid idea.
That said, If Brexit is happening- who do I want at the helm? May? some insane Tory who was strongly in the remain camp prior to the referendum, thinks threatening to cut our countries nose off to spite it's face is ~strong~, and appears so uncertain of her party's ability to make Brexit work for the British people that she's trying to consolidate power prior to making a total shit-show of it rather than face being up for election after the fact.
No fucking thanks.
There's no stopping Brexit at this point, it's just a question of how much damage it does. At least Labour might actually negotiate with the EU as opposed to the political posturing that Theresa May seems to favour.
Corbyn was also heavily criticised for being a euro-sceptic.
I don't personally share all of his views, but in my opinion, it evokes a lot more trust in his intentions that he always had issues with aspects of our relationship with Europe, as opposed to May who is simply adopting the same stance as UKIP for no reason other than to garner votes- with no real investment in the success or failure of the endeavour beyond that.
May is a labour plant to make Corbyn electable.
Honestly Theresa May deserves it for putting out a manifesto which was so obviously trying to "out Labour" Labour. Why would people bother voting for half-hearted statism in May when they can get the full blooded thing in Corbyn?
She also had a disaster of an interview for the Welsh Conservatives manifesto launch today: -

Because of a U-Turn on her Dementia Tax.

Corbyn is doing no worse than Miliband did in 2015. The difference is that the Tories are a whole lot stronger and UKIP voters have flocked back to the Tories. If Brexit hadn't have happened and UKIP stayed strong, Corbyn would be neck-and-neck with May (assuming she became PM through some other method) right now, if not maybe slightly ahead.
I put aside my usual political apathy and registered to vote because of Corbyn. I'm still sure the Tories will win again, but I can't help but hope that there are quite a few ex-nonvoters like me that will skew it a bit the other way.

Are you me.
Tories need to win to secure Brexit, everything goes sideways if Labour wins.

No I'm pretty sure you got that reversed.

Labours are starting catching up to Cons and Liberal Dems/UKIP are still declining for help Labours to win.

labour probably aren't poaching many votes from UKIP. The decline of UKIP is probably to explain for the tories growth.

As much as I'd say that Euro skepticism is essentially a very good thing, you really think that the Tory will get a better trade deal for UK that it has now under EU? Lol nope.

To me it feels like since the referendum result was so marginally in favour of Brexit, the course of action that most closely reflects that is a soft exit. Otherwise it's a bit like working out that there's a 52% chance that this pool is deep enough to dive into, so you decide to go head first from 20m. I'd opt for hopping in first.
I'm not at all surprised by this. From the point of view of an outsider in Alun Cairns' Yes Man Tory stronghold, I could not understand why when given the opportunity, neo-industrial Wales would be singing the praises of a woman who is like a bumbling, panicking version of the Iron Lady. It was ridiculous; Valleys boys still talk in no uncertain terms about Margaret Thatcher being literally Hitler. And yet her policies were reflected by May, but with less strong leadership and delivery. So without that delivery and leadership, it seems like they may have realised the Tories will never represent or even give a shit in the first place about the demographics in the industry areas.

A dead cat would be better at negotiating than May.
May seems to think that pissing everybody off will aid her in some way in the future. At the very least Corbyn could walk into the room and talk with the EU without pulling his trousers down and shitting on the table to appear "strong."

And since right populism has been failing to take hold over and over in EU elections it just becomes more and more likely that the EU is gonna hand the UK a harsh deal.

really though is it better to shit in the pot before it's boiled as May is doing?

Yeah I'm not sure the Tories are definitely the party to trust with ~securing brexit~, whatever the fuck that means.
