Learned how to drive on a Mazda MPV. This thing was bitchin', its the only minivan that I know of with a manual transmission. Some info from Wikipedia -
The 1989 MPV was designed from the ground-up as a minivan for the American market. It was based on the large rear wheel drive 929's HC. It would be called the LV platform, and equipped the MPV with a V6 engine and optional four-wheel drive. Its selectable 4WD system is not to be confused with permanent "all wheel drive" systems; the MPV can be switched into 4WD with a switch mounted on the column gear selector. A dash mounted switch also allowed the driver to lock the center differential, splitting power equally between the front and rear axles. The 4WD can be engaged and disengaged while moving.
That's pretty fucking cool for a minivan.
NA Miata RX-3 RX-7 Cosmo greater than all those you posted
Mazda makes absolutely gorgeous cars.
The mx5 looks pretty cool cruising down the road.
the new mazda 3s are ugly as fuck
All I can ever see when I see a Mazda is the god damn smile on the front.
I only care for Mazdaspeed 3's and Tributes.
I want to drive a mazda with a rotary engine some time. I mean redlining at 9000 rpm seems pretty awesome.
I want to drive a mazda with a rotary engine some time. I mean redlining at 9000 rpm seems pretty awesome.
yeh but apex seals
I want to drive a mazda with a rotary engine some time. I mean redlining at 9000 rpm seems pretty awesome.
drive an s2000 9000rpm without voodoo
mazda fucking SUCKS, i had to use a mazda CX-9 piece of shit that looked like a fucking mini van when i had to use a rental car
mazda fucking SUCKS, i had to use a mazda CX-9 piece of shit that looked like a fucking mini van when i had to use a rental car
You're obviously in your early teens and therefore didn't get a chance to drive said rental car, but if you had, you'd have really enjoyed the handling. As far as crossovers go, Mazda is pretty great with theirs handling-wise. Why come into a thread about Mazdas just to criticize them?
Why come into a thread about Mazdas just to criticize them?
The thread is called "Mazda discussion" not "Mazda appreciation" :v: But I agree that his statement is vague and plain dumb
Anyone remember the Mazda MX6? 2.5 V6, I've only ever seen one in the flesh. Not a huge fan but they are good value for money, most sell for less than £2000 in good condition, about 7.5 seconds to 60. I'm not a huge fan of them, but still a pretty good coupe for the money. Also the MX3: I took one of these out for a spin when I was considering buying one. I liked the idea of owning the 1.8V6, it was part-developed by Porsche. It was a pretty boring drive though, the engine makes a lot of fuss without actually doing anything and the steering was a bit flimsy, no real feeling to it. I was quite gutted that it was a let-down as the idea of owning one was pretty cool.

Good car, it looks okay too. [editline]31st January 2011[/editline] They are very rare around here, i've only seen like 4 other MX6s around here my whole life
mazda fucking SUCKS, i had to use a mazda CX-9 piece of shit that looked like a fucking mini van when i had to use a rental car
Maybe cause the previous owner fucked it up. CX9's are gorgeous. Also welcome to Facepunch. Your stay wont be pretty

The car I was looking at was fairly mint, the more expensive of the list with only 60,000 miles on it and 2 previous owners. I found the steering too light and not giving enough feedback in the bends to really drive the car on it's limits, the car was too quick to understeer and the car didn't respond well under heavy breaking, the nose squirming everywhere. It just seemed to handle more like a hatchback than the coupe it's supposed to be. The engine note is pretty nice though. Wasn't meant in a harsh way at all. If you stuck a set of decent coilovers on with a good anti-roll bar you could probably transform the handling.
