Water Temple was a bitch, what are you talking about?
The main difficulty of the infamous Water Temple was that it was easy to get lost and all the constant iron boots switching bogged it down way too much; both cases were unintended artificial difficulty Nintendo didn't quite think through. The 3DS version added colored lines to specific sections to identify them easier and let you place Iron Boots on an item slot for instant switching. The result? Original Water Temple took a couple of hours, maybe even several, for some average gamers to beat; 3DS Water Temple takes an hour or two and falls into line with the other temples in difficulty and length much more appropriately. Then again, the 3DS version felt easier overall, but that's mostly because the controls were so much better and smoother.
