okay so im looking for some good indie sounding music while i wait for the new Brand New cd to be released. now i understand indie a a really broad genre (if you wanna call it a genre) of music, so ill list a few bands that i listen to and see if you guys know of anything similar to them or not. i've looked in a few different threads already for suggestions of music, and i was not impressed by any of the suggestions so i decided to make my own thread to see if anyone on this forum listens to what i like to listen to, and if they have any suggestions. As for the kind of sound im looking for, im into: Brand New Kevin Devine and the Goddamn Band Manchester Orchestra The New Sabrosa mewithoutYou Right Away, Great Captain La Dispute Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band Bright Eyes Desaparecidos Margot & the Nuclear So and So's Rilo Kiley Circa Survive Iron And Wine Definace, Ohio Plushgun Islands ya know, just stuff like that, just let me know if you've heard of anything like these bands or not.
How can you listen to Brand New but not listen to Say Anything

Kasabian.
Portugal. The Man
Off the top of my head: - The ones in Bold are very, very worth looking into. Blood Red Shoes. Milburn. Klaxons. Kasabian. The Kooks Silversun Pickups. Modest Mouse. Kaiser Chiefs. Foals. Bloc. Party. Arctic Monkeys. (Everybody likes the Arctic Monkeys, so I'm assuming you will.) The Subways. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. The Wombats.
since you listen to Islands, I'm assuming you also listen to The Unicorns?
The Tough Alliance The Unicorns Animal Collective Beirut Blind Pilot Caribou Casiotone for the Painfully Alone Coconut Records Crystal Castles Decemberists Deerhunter Gogol Bordello Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins Ladytron Man Man Neutral Milk Hotel The Postal Service Santogold (It might be Santigold now, she had to change it from one to the other, look them both up) St. Vincent And if you can find it, there's this Folk Band from my city, that I'm friends with, and they are fucking amazing. They're called "The Wind Whistles" and they rule, so much. Check out their Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/thewindwhistles Also, like the guy a couple posts up, bold means really good, if they are underlined too it means they are my favourite band ever and they rule so much and you should DEFINITELY get their albums "The New School" and "A New Chance" [editline]12:54AM[/editline] Also, I love mewithoutYou, but when I found out they were a super christian band, I liked them a little less. Not that I dislike christian bands, but when EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEIR SONGS is about god, it gets a little frustrating, but their music fucking rules, so it's forgivable.
