I wouldn't want to get a dog with a chip in it, just seems weird knowing that. But in 5 years, if you train him well, he won't be that bad to take care of.
I'ma take him now!

IDK.
My uncle (a vet) said they like to wander, (aka need to be chained up.) you agree or disagree?
Well i have a large fenced back yard, and I take it for walks atleast twice a day, so it doesn't really find the need to try to get out. collies just need ALOT of physical activity every day or else you won't have the dog for very long
i like my dog better
:3
this is a dog thread that dog that op posted will eat/kill your cat smiley
how can you look at that and not go D'AAAWWWWWW
OP's dog is better.
I have a dachshund named Odie, he's adorable :3:
OP leaves for college in 5 years. That means he is in 8th grade. When I was in 8th grade I got a couple pets and got bored with them soon after. Wait until you have your own place and are ready to handle it, really. [editline]11:14[/editline] Disregard everything I just said. Upon further review, that puppy is insanely cute, buy him now.
250 bucks? Holy shit. At the humane society here the adoption price for a fully spayed/neutered/vaccinated/chipped pet is $80. :| That's a cute dog, but you should wait until you're a little older if it's only going to be you taking care of it.

This thread is now about our dogs. DAWWW!
Also, if it's a collie mix, you better be prepared to walk it at LEAST twice a day. Those things go insane if they don't get exercise. They get bored and when they get bored they get destructive. You need to be prepared to stimulate him mentally and physically at all times, even when you're not home. Those dogs are often given back to shelters because they go nuts when they have nothing to do. For some good mental stimulation, purchase a toy that dispenses food when the dog pushes or rolls it. Give them toys that require problem solving. You also need a big yard and you should consider getting a treadmill if you don't already have one for the occassions in which you cannot actually go out and give your dog a proper walk. It's no substitute for a proper walk, but it works. edit: DO RESEARCH ON PUPPIES/COLLIE MIXES BEFORE ADOPTING I can't stress that enough. You can never do enough research before getting a companion that will be with you for 15+ years.
my dog different color though
That is one cute fuggin' puppy.
"Smooth Coated Collie" fucking win. I have a border collie. best dog i've ever had in my life.
Border Collies are THE most intelligent dogs on the planet. I've had two in my life so far, although I swear, the one I have now is a complete idiot.
Everyone is dumb! :iiam:
Everyone is dumb! :iiam:
Way to contribute to this thread.
Don't get a puppy. If you care get an older dog. They deserve love too.
Go for it
Don't get a puppy. If you care get an older dog. They deserve love too.
QFT though, older dogs should be adopted by older people who know more about the dogs. Young kids shouldn't decide to get a dog on their own, period. But if they have to, it would be a good idea to get a puppy for the kid to teach them how to exercise responsibilty and discipline.
