I've been wanting to read more novels, and I've been particularly interested in the stranger books such as the following:
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov...

...written about a pedophiles sexual relationship with a promiscuous 14-year-old girl, which was temporarily banned in france, the ban lasting 2 years.

...often called one of the trippiest books ever written, narrated by an orphaned murderer.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson...

...about a reporter and his lawyer who go on a drug craze
,and
Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs...

...about an exterminator who begins taking the drugs he uses to kill rodents.
These are some interesting-sounding books, so I was curious as to what the FP community has to offer me in terms of bizarre book suggestions.
Thanks
PS. Sorry if I don't properly follow FP etiquette, I'm new.
Naked Lunch sounds absolutely fascinating.
I've only seen Fear and Loathing, but it's great. Heard of Lolita as well.
The Third Policeman is my all-time favourite book, for some reason, it reminds me of my dreams, the way he seems to forget things over time and they no longer have relevance in his world.
Random quote from the book.
"The gross and net result of it is that people who spent most of their natural lives riding iron bicycles over the rocky roadsteads of this parish get their personalities mixed up with the personalities of their bicycle as a result of the interchanging of the atoms of each of them and you would be surprised at the number of people in these parts who are nearly half people and half bicycles...when a man lets things go so far that he is more than half a bicycle, you will not see him so much because he spends a lot of his time leaning with one elbow on walls or standing propped by one foot at kerbstones."
The Game by Neil Strauss

For a second I thought this was gonna be "The Hunger Games" and was like :frog: cause those books are mainstream and 'normal' as fuck.
Haven't read it but i think it belongs here.

This reminds me, should I bump that one pedo book thread?
Also Tarzan is really weird. Also anything by Stephen King is really weird. And I read some book called outcasts or something, I dunno, but they take shrooms and turn into wolves and it's weird.

A unleashed, I dunno why I though outcasts.
I've read the Malleus Maleficarum once.
Rant, by Chuck Palahniuk. Oh, and Choke, by the same author. Weird shit, man.
You should definitely check out Pygmy if you liked Palaniuk. It's awesome.
No!
Saying no makes me want to do it even more. But I won't. I will do it when no one expects it.
I know it's in the OP, but Lolita is a fucking awesome novel. Just read the first paragraph.
Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta:
the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap,
at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta.
Fuck that just sounds so cool every time I read it.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It's definitely a taboo book, but damn is it a good book.
-snip-
American Psycho.

Nobody poops but you

Banned by many countries. Interesting read though.
I can see Squidward is contemplating it.
