We've all got those photo and movie projects swimming around in our heads that we can never quite translate into real life because we either don't have the time or the money.
Ever since The Suburbs by the Arcade Fire came out, I've been wanting to film a video of a high school track meet set to Month of May. I don't have the time and my DSLR cinematography so far leaves something to be desired. Similarly, I would love to do a Friday Night Lights style video of a football game set to Mars, Bringer of War by Gustav Holst.
I've also always wanted to do one of those extremely personal photo essays. See "A Mother's Journey" by Renee C. Byer.
What are your ridiculous/awesome project fantasies?
I'd like to do a shoe-string budget short film involving time travel (as in, a few hours), and have various timelines that all converge, etc. The film wouldn't make any sense until the last scene, etc.
I need to get a friend to script it for me, maybe it will become a reality over the summer holidays (only a month or two away now...).
I want to do a Martin Schoeller-inspired portrait series.

And something which is completely unrealistic, tag along with the Taliban and take photos with them in action. We have seen our side fighting plenty, but not their side :v:

To be ~relevent~ the time travel device could use neutrino sub-atomic particles to allow faster-than-light travel. :v:
I wish to go to NYC/Chicago and do Vivian Maier inspired street photography, with a good TLR and tons of MF.

I want to take a cross country driving trip from the Atlantic to the Pacific with a large format camera.

if you ever come to Chicago, you can stay at my place and take the train into town all ya like. I'm gonna be going into town soon for a photo project, it's lots of fun. Gotta poke back into excercising more, last time I visited a few places, a pack of hobos chased my friend down.
I really love taking pictures out in town, but if I was ever to go out set on getting shots of these calibur, I'd really want to wait for the weather to turn up a foggy day, because that gives such an amazing depth to pictures (as you can see)
I want to go to the salton sea
I want to go and be a photojournalist in Iraq or wherever a couple of countries are a having a conflict. I want to shoot it all in film using TLR's and EOS 3's.
Since I don't have much money ever, and photography is a very very very side hobby for me, my fantasy is to get a new lens. A nicer one than the one I have. I'd also like to photograph the heavens. Not just above the clouds and everything up there, but actually the heavens. I know that's kind of queer, and isn't even possible, but imagine it. It would be amazing.
Something realistic? I'd like to photograph behind the scenes broadway.
I love people so much. I wish I only knew more about how the camera works and how to get just the right settings when taking pictures. And the camera and lens to do it. I only have a Nikon D40 and I'm not sure what kind of lens. My camera's not nearby because I'm backstage about to go on stage for our second performance.

oh man, this post from you seriously annoys me. You live in one of the biggest cities in the world (London for those that don't know), you have one of the biggest street photographers playgrounds available to you at your feet. I've been following the photos that you've taken and as far as I can tell you have by no means even brushed the surface of what London has to offer photographically. Sure dreaming for bigger is fine, but making the most out of the FUCKING AWESOME situation you already have should be your foremost priority.

Yes I know I live in London but it takes me more than an hour to get to the central, and there there's something about New York that inspires me.
Also, the vast majority of my unscanned film stuff is street photography in London.
get scannin'
but I understand the wonderlust of cities far away rather than your home city.
i wouldn't personally be able to shoot this, but i would be in control over the project.
i'd like to strap cameras that take a shot every 45 minutes to the neck of stray animals, and see what they do or where they go all day. i don't know if that's really even a dream project, but it seems really interesting at the moment.

I've seen this done with seals and with dolphins, it was interesting
A National Geographic expedition.
My school does study abroad trips to Antarctica every few years, you can imagine that next time they offer, I'm going. Granted it'd be kinda hard to focus when it's that cold...

But then you add psuedo realism to the story, while in Primer the time machine's workings aren't explained, only its effects, making it almost completely accurate and plausible.
I have many Dream projects related to photography.
1- Expedition In Africa.
2- Expedition In Antartica
3- Expedition In North Pole
4- High Altitude Photography Would be Fucking Cool.

A time lapse
of the earth
from the moon
somehow bringing a camera with me and doing a timelapse of an entire day
and an exciting day where I actually did something interesting.
