Short skirmish, haven't played PW for a while, just got my new army to a usable stage. We'll be using Clarity's map pw_battleridge.

The soldiers of the Old Kingdom walk onto the ancient ruins, led by their revered hero, the Abhorsen Tranciel. He and a soldier try to get a look at the cave where their enemy likely lurks. Behind them, two Charter sendings carry in a Charter Stone, so that the army can tap into the immense power of Charter Magic in this distant land. Tranciel's son, the current Wallmaker, young but naturally talented, begins to lay down marks of warding and protection. Two other (fairly lazy) soldiers hang back. The Charter Mages cast up a yellow beacon of light, signalling back to Belsaire that they have reached their location.
"I can smell it. Metallic, strong. Definitely Free Magic." begins Tranciel. I can't sense any Dead, which isn't good... must be a powerful Free Magic creature. Men! Keep alert!"
I have seen nither of you two here befor... cool
I used to post on the PW lunarpages forum, then it died, didn't do much on the backup forum, only now am I starting to get into PW again. I sometimes drop in here to see if there's any cool matches going on, but that's it... until now. Mush's name on Facepunch is Mosheplz, I just called him Mush because it's his alias on steam and the Picture Wars forums. He's been doing picture wars for quite a while now, and his sprites are awesome.

A large rumble is felt by the men, and some dirt falls from the top of the cave...
Out of the cave appears a huge orange face, it looks to the soldiers and booms, "fuck off"
LOL! a snake!
:v:
Well, that was quite anti-climatic.
It is not! I like giant snakes that shit nukes and piss acid!
It looks to the soldiers and said with a booming voice "Fuck Off"
And this is why I chose to have a match with him.

Tranciel instinctively springs into action, jumping off the pillar, casting Charter Marks for lightness and safety to avoid injury from the fall. The two Charter sendings, reacting to the Free Magic, begin jumping down. The first follows the Abhorsen, while the second waits. The fair-haired soldier watches in horror.
"Shit, I didn't know I signed up for this."
The Wallmaker gets to work, making a sword to be used by a future Charter sending. He curses to himself as he sees the sendings running off weaponless, knowing their only method of attack would be a Charter-fuelled kamikaze attack. The other two soldiers carefully inch down the steep slope, trying to stay out of battle for as long as they can without actually doing nothing. The Charter Mages, finished with their beacon, fling a ball of (horrible looking) Charter energy each at the Free Magic snake, with bad aim due to their quick casting.
"This'll be another easy victory!" smirks the Abhorsen.
RUSHED TURN

It's not a snake! It's a giant fucking crab, shiiiiiiiiiit!
It opens it claw, and breathes out fucking fire!
(ur dead)
:byodood:
wtf is that
crab

The Abhorsen lands, dirt spraying everywhere. In a quick, seamless movement, he draws his sword and flicks a ball of Charter fire. Both the sendings are falling now. The fair-haired soldier, terrified, thrusts his sword onto the Charter Stone and yells to the Wallmaker.
"Come on, put something on my sword. Marks of protection, unravelling, whatever. Just help me!"
The Wallmaker begins to work, using the Charter stone to multiply the power many times. The other two soldiers continue down the slope. One of the Charter Mages prepares a beacon to signal that they have engaged their target, while the other moves forward.

The fire fades, leaving a small trail of smoke...
The crab advances, knocking dirt from the top of the cave, it looks straight into Tranciel's eyes, he'd probably be p. scared right now.
The magic spell hit the organ that makes fire inside the crabs claw, causing a small explosion. The organ is still intact, but a bit injured.

Tranciel, nowhere near as scared as the rest of the group due to his lengthy experience with large Free Magic creatures, skillfully jumps off the rock, racing to fight the crab. One of the sendings has landed, while the other is nearly on the ground. The fair-haired soldier, with his newly empowered sword, jumps off the rock, following his Abhorsen commander. The other two soldiers continue walking down, one passes behind a pillar. The dark-haired Charter Mage flicks off a quick, weak beacon before proceeding to prepare a stronger, more complex spell. The other one walks forward to the end of the block. The Wallmaker begins to add some extra Charter marks to the sword, wrapping it in marks specially designed for protection and extra damage to Free Magic constructs.
The crab walks right into the magic missile fired by Tranciel, it further damages his organ causing a large explosion that tears apart his claw!

The crab just gets a whole lot angrier, so it decides to fire off a blast of fire at Tranciel, but it JUST misses!

Tranciel falls through the fire, his coat setting on fire. He flies out, about to land sprawling on the floor. His sword slips from his hand and flies into the dirt, point down. One word can be heard.
"SHIIIIIIIIIIT!"
Meanwhile, the two soldiers continue to advance. The fair-haired one, much more confident with a powerful enchanted sword, is nearly on the ground. One of the Charter sendings begins to unravel its body into basic Charter marks and channel them into a beam. A kamikaze attack, the most powerful a sending could do, but the only one it can weaponless. The other sending has landed and is about to do the same. Up on the pillar, the dark-haired Charter mage launches a large ball of Charter energy at the Free Magic crab. The other one begins to construct a new sending with the stone. The Wallmaker moves to the end of the block.
I wonder if Mush just sprites the poses for his crab right on the spot.
Yeah, he does, he wanted to try it, so he did.
Awesome.
The powerful, powerful beam, so strong that it needs a Charter sending sacrifice to use it hits the crab right in the face! But it's a mother fucking giant crab, it simply gets more angry.

The claw explodes, sending shards of the claw in all directions! A large shard hits a soldier, he explodes!
A smaller piece hits the fair-haired soldier in the leg, ripping it off!

Yeah, I do. I couldn't be stuffed making a new sprite sheet, hah. That's also why the crab changes size every turn :v

Still looks awesome anyhow :buddy:.
Wow this just ahahahahahha

Tranciel smashes hard into the dirt, helpless. He tries to wriggle out, he should be back in action by next turn. The first Charter sending shoots its remaining component marks at the crab. The second one begins the same process of unravelling its marks and chanelling them into a beam. Under the pillar, the redhead soldier sheds a tear as he watches the fair-haired soldier, an old friend of his, fall onto the ground with only one leg, his face impaling on a broken piece of stone. Somehow, the fair-haired soldier is still alive, and utters a few words.
"Please... pleaaaseee.... killll... meeee......"
Feeling terrible as he has to kill his best friend for his own good, the redhead soldier thrusts his sword through the other soldier. Picking up the enchanted sword and leaning forward to pick up his own, he thinks, or hopes, that this is what his friend wanted him to do. He had to stay composed, he had to fight the creature.
Up on the pillar, the Charter sending has fully materialised. The Wallmaker hands it the enchanted sword from earlier, while the mage sees that his help is needed and channels energy (albeit badly aimed) from the Charter Stone at the crab. The Charter Mage at the back charges a spell.
