Gamespot made a cool vid, missing a couple games though

Battlefront 2's rendition of Hoth is still my favorite with Rogue Leader right behind it. I actually have some faith in EA and can't wait to see their version.
hoth was my favourite level in battlefront 2 by far
So many days spent playing shadows of the empire. Would replay hoth every day and it never got boring. He is right though, that one level was so good it completely overshadowed the rest of the game.
The only bad thing about Hoth in Battlefront 2 was that using the tow cable on AT-ATs was completely impossible.
They missed the best one

Playing it in the campaign and confidently walking across the snow fields as Vader while everything blows up around you was amazing.
I remember playing Rogue Squadron back in the day.
But I hated how the camera angle changed when you used the tow cable. It always fucked me up.
Why did they do that?

Apparently the AT-AT in BF1 was a two seater, one player had one set of guns, the other had another set.

I could only play with bots, so I had to pull some Houdini shit to get it to work.

The bots are horrible at Hoth, they usually just ram the AT-AT
It says battlefront 2 came out in 2003, even though battlefront 1 didn't come out until 2004

I never had that problem in bf2 but it may be because I had mastered the technique in shadows of the empire and rouge squadron which was much harder imo

I feel guilty for buying this now. This was way back when because it reminded me of the Trilogy Arcade game that I would play until I ran out of tokens at all of the arcades I went to as a child. Boy my five-six year old mind could not tell the difference.
Hoth on Battlefront 1-2 had the best iteration of the Battle for Hoth imo, and I hope EA doesn't screw it up.
Oh man, Star Wars Trilogy Arcade. I was so bad at it when I was a kid and now I can beat the whole thing in one sitting. If I won the lottery tomorrow, that'd without a doubt be my first purchase.

Shadows of the Empire was amazing. First level was the best. I remember just flying around sometimes, with my own guys, shooting them down even. The level only ended if you died or won, so why not. Kinda like that Starfox level that was just like Independence day. Great level
I played the Hoth level more then any other.
I didn't realize it had inspired Rogue Squadron.
Man it seems Battlefront 1 is a forgotten game. BF1 did a few things better than 2
Man I loved Rogue Squadron 2, it felt like it really captured the greatest moments in Star Wars so well.
I used to love playing Hoth on Battlefront 2, I'd always play against my brother, he would get so mad when I used the infantry rocket launcher to instagib him while he was playing Vader.

This version of Geonosis is so much better than the BF2 version, imo. It's fucking massive and actually looks like it's straight from the film. Plus I love the amount of detail in the skybox.
Map looks awesome, but the gameplay looks so bad in comparison to 2.

The BF2 geonosis was pretty bad to be honest, BF1's version was pretty much superior in every way.
Another thing I liked about BF1 was that it had fighters in land maps which BF2 didn't except on hoth

Reminds me of The Clone Wars game back in 2004. If it wasn't so damn difficult, I'd have it above BF1 imo.

They're not that different to be honest, I still enjoy BF1 quite a lot

Hoth and Ord Mantell on SOTE. I barely remember the rest of the game other than those two and the Skyhook.

It still looks clunkier than the sequel though. Battlefront 2 seems like its the same gameplay as 1, but improved.

Are you kidding the bots are tow cable masters

Thankfully, modders ported over all the BF1 Maps to BF2, including the ones with fighters in the ground battles.
Think BF1942 Galactic Conquest did the best, period. The scale of the maps was IMMENSE, multiplayer matches were some of the funnest moments gaming for me. Though I admit, Shadows was what kept me probably one of the easiest babysit jobs when I was a kid, they made a PC version that obviously doesn't run anymore which is why I was sad GOG didnt have it during their SW blowout.
