[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nYBfYlU0mA[/hd] :aaa: Jesus fucking christ is all I can say. I hope they keep the darker elements of it in, like Tenma being a total dick to Astro, and Astro [sp]eventually being required to kill in order to uphold the peace[/sp]. In essence I'm hoping for less 1963 Astro Boy, and more 2003 with a dash of Pluto.
looks like shit compared to the original astro boy and I hate to burst your bubble but it looks like its being developed with kids in mind, I doubt there's going to be much killing involved also embedding disabled
Not that it looks absolutely horrible or anything. Just doesn't seem like it would be very interesting.
looks like shit compared to the original astro boy and I hate to burst your bubble but it looks like its being developed with kids in mind, I doubt there's going to be much killing involved also embedding disabled
Astro wasn't exactly a mass murderer in the manga either; part of what separated the character from his contemporaries in the works of Go Nagai, Shotaro Ishinomori, etc. was that he actually valued human life, and would only kill when the alternative was letting innocents die. In fact, the first time he did it, it was a massive moral dilemma for him and in spite of the fact that doing so saved an entire room full of people, he still felt insane amounts of guilt over it to the point of secluding himself from society for a fair while. Frankly, the fact that Tezuka Productions is involved makes me think this is going to be, at the very least, a respectful treatment of the character. I'd be much more worried if they weren't.
They better not fuck this but I agree with what rilez said, It looks like it's made for kids in mind, so I fucking hope not.
What's with the scene girl at 1:05?
I clicked the link while saying "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" but hey, it does not look too too bad but still, nothing beats the originals.
It looks alright. I might see it. I really liked the manga... good times...
I despise the animation style, it's far too clean and bright, from what I remember of the 2003 version, when I saw it as a child was that the city design looked fantastic, as was the character design, Tenma was a proper villain in the series, he really looked the part. The new version doesn't seem up to scratch, Tenma looks really rather silly, and his voice doesn't fit the part of what I recall to be the villain. The city looks more bespin than future dystopia. I don't know, things nowadays never seem as good as the originals.
