All I can say is I really hurt my brain on this one. I simply tried thinking of what there could be without life. I can't explain what I mean if you don't get it, just - If life was not created, no organisms/cells or any form of matter. What would there be?
the ground and the sky
Earth would be a desolate rock floating around the sun. Same goes for the entire universe.
Earth, wind and fire.
No, nothing, no planets, no elements, nothing. What could there be besides any form of matter? Will edit post.
Death.
Energy.

There are other forms of energy than just matter.
Either way, there can't be nothing, if there was no universe or universes then there would be nothing and nothing to say there's nothing thus a universe is required.
there could be death.

He said life. All that you say would still exist, but life not.
A note to add: OP said in the title life, but then he talked about matter
Life=/=Matter
Second Life.
That is, if you avoid the furries and any other disturbing groups of people.
Wish I could delete threads. Don't know why I had the impulse to make it, but it's late.
Why is it late?
i think, when we die, were born in a diffrent universe.

ther would be an no life
The Decay of the mechanisms tying the universe.
Life is only a small part of our universe. The universe would still function as normal. It would just be however that there would be nothing to observe it.
In laymans terms: Life is only the salt of the Universe
With no life, life in the universe would go on.

There would be nothing. Empty space.
It would be like a playground without and playground equipment.
Sure it would be there, but what's the point?
Viruses.
Kind of the gray area of life/non-life.
What the hell is with the sudden amount of philosophy threads?
