Argentina has approved a new law which states that all public transport across the country must be stamped with the words: “The Falklands are Argentina”.
Teresita Luna, a politician from La Rioja province, in the west of the country bordering Chile, proposed the new regulation – which was approved unanimously on Wednesday night.
The law, part of a larger package of more than 60 measures debated over a six-hour session, means that all vehicles – on road, rail, by water or in the air – used for public transport must display the words: “Las Malvinas son Argentinas”. Departure areas and arrival stations must also carry the message.
Still butthurt, Argentia?
No they arn't.
Holy fuck I'm sure Argentina like any other country has 213145123 problems with way more priority than that.
Laws should be to ensure control and civility, that kind of law does none of them, it think it makes the country look like a joke.
what? dollar is up like heaven, infaltion is too super high, the country is corrupted and they are thinking about this?

Guess two times why they are doing this

That's the point.
It's part populism and part trying to distract people from actual issues.
This is pretty insane.
but please, feel free to try and invade the United Kingdom again...
Are they really still trying to insist that?
The Falklands chose to remain British. They had a referendum last year with 99% voting to stay British. And after the 51% vote Scotland just had, I think you'd have a hard time arguing that was faked.
It doesn't matter what Argentina wants. It doesn't even matter what Britain wants. The Falklanders want to be British, so they're fucking British, end of story. I don't care if they voted to join North fucking Korea, if that's what they choose, that's what they get.
I don't get why everybody is so surprised; they did just default AGAIN.

The situation was even worse the last time they made caring about it mandatory, they do it as a distraction.
It's a bunch of hot air. I doubt Argentina is willing to go toe to toe with England again. Save themselves from more humiliation
Argentina's economy is failing and has other problems, and this is the government cares most about.
No fucking wonder they're going to shit
Such a strange thing for them to do, i guess it's to subtly shift the whole population of Argentina to agree with them that the Falklands are still Argentina.
Why can't they just let go? It's not like any good will come from them causing all that fuss.
Fuck off mate

Nationalistic sentiment: When you can't do anything right, but don't want to stop being bad at your job.
You fuckin' wot m8? C'mere and say that to my face, not from south america and see what fuckin' happens.

According to the argentinian government, the referendum is void because the kelpers are not the island's original dwellers, they are occupying argentinian land and thus their opinion is worth shit

Exactly why they're focusing on this non-issue, to distract the population from actual issues the government fails at dealing with.
Feel free to let us come along this time UK, we'd love to help.
Fucking try it Argentina. We owe you.

Between that, and their behavior during the brief occupation, I'm not entirely sure the Argentinian government is fit to rule Argentina, let alone the Falklands. They simply do not care for the people - they simply want the islands.
I don't think it's even about the oil at this point. It really isn't much oil to begin with, and the agreement to a split of the profits was withdrawn by Argentina. They're just butthurt because a bunch of land that's physically close to them stubbornly refuses to be culturally and politically close to them.

That's why the government cares about it, because they can blame someone else for something.
Also, I'm surprised it went this long without someone posting that propaganda cartoon.

It was like the second post in the last Falklands thread.
Does anyone in Argentina actually believe this.
Please, everyone, don't take the government's word for ours.
Attacking those islands was already a terrible idea the Military Junta had, and now our corrupt and stupid politicians are trying to generate some fake nationalism in order to earn our support, but we are not stupid.
For real, we can't even handle the inflation and we couldn't give less shits about the islands.
