I'm on a guitar of course, I have a problem. No matter what I do I can't seem to play a bar chord properly, my index finger just won't press down all the strings..
Anyone got any tips on how to fix this?
just keep playing you dingo. your fingers just have to get stronger
For now, play around with alternate finger positions.
When your fingers are strong enough, move to bar chords. I'm just now learning to play them cleanly, it's been a long while for me.
Do finger strengthening exercises.
make sure you stretch your fingers well before playing, it'll be easier if your fingers are relaxed
Bar chords are really just practice, you have to be bloody minded about it to get them going
Just keep doing it is the only way. Using the bony side of your finger helps instead of the soft front of it.
