You know i don't expect this species of elephant to be alive in a next few decades as the demand for ivory in china is very high even with the bans which limits them to selling ivory from before 1990's which is bizarre because there is only way they could get it as its rare.

Not supporting poaching but IIRC a lot of poor people in Africa turn to poaching so they can make a decent living, especially in Zimbabwe because the economy is completely fucked there

Poverty will never be, or should at least never be, a legitimate excuse for hurting/killing animals. There are other ways to survive.

I'd agree with you, but at the same time I know what extreme poverty is like and I can't blame people who turn to poaching for that reason. Say what you want, but bread for your family is more important than rhinos or tigers or other animals.
