• Concealed Permit Holder Stops Attempted Mass Shooting in Chicago
On Friday, an Uber driver with a concealed carry permit thwarted an attempted mass shooting by pulling his own weapon and shooting a gunman who had opened fire in Chicago’s Logan Square. Illinois Assistant State’s Attorney Barry Quinn verified that the driver “had a concealed-carry permit and acted in the defense of himself and others.”
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/04/20/concealed-permit-holder-stops-attempted-mass-shooting-in-chicago/ (User was banned for this post ("Read the rules." - Swebonny))
I'm surprised not more taxi drivers carry guns, or gas station attendants. They always seem to find trouble.
That's the most libertarian thing I've ever heard
Here what the original source says.
Uber driver shoots man who allegedly fired at group on Logan Square sidewalk
Source Implying that it was an attempted mass shooting is a stretch. Considering the source I now know why they used those choice of words.
That's the most libertarian thing I've ever heard
Uh what? The most libertarian thing would be is if everyone died because concealed carry would be illegal.
That's the most libertarian thing I've ever heard
Maybe if the invisible hand of the free market had thwarted the shooting.
Here what the original source says.
This is why Breitbart isn't supposed to be used as a source.
Pull sources the article mentioned and this story appears truthful. http://chicago.suntimes.com/news-chicago/7/71/532869/uber-driver-shoots-man-who-allegdly-shot-group-logan-square-sidewalk http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-uber-driver-shoots-gunman-met-0420-20150419-story.html Attempted mass shooting will be difficult to prove since they never happened. Thus easily denied.

I worked as overnight at a gas station for a month. Better believe I carried; Glock 26.
Uh what? The most libertarian thing would be is if everyone died because concealed carry would be illegal.
If you don't know the difference between Libertarian and Liberal you probably shouldn't post in SH :v: [Sp]not to say all liberals support gun control, that's just the stereotype[/sp]
I'm not normally one who goes 'everyone should be armed ittl stop mass shootings', but in some circumstances an armed citizen can make a huge difference. And, here, we have just that set of circumstances.
Although I agree attendants should carry, a gun and gas seems like a problem waiting to happen Probably unlikely though

I was the night shift manager at a gas station for a year and I had always heard rumors that we had a gun somewhere but my boss denied it and said it's too dangerous to have with gas pumps all right outside.
Every car's starter motor produces a shitton of sparks when it activates. If discharging a gun was an actual explosion risk at a gas station we'd see car starters making them go bang all the time.
Stories like this rarely make news, and the guy that prevents the shooting never gets any credit. Just like the Clakamas mall shooter that was stopped by a guy that simply pointed his handgun at him. I wish these anti-gun idiots read more stories like this, the stories are out there just sadly not as popular as the "today X people died in a mass shooting" stories. Maybe if they saw that 99.99999999999% of legal gun owners were sane people they would stop their gun ban bullshit.
I'm surprised not more taxi drivers carry guns, or gas station attendants. They always seem to find trouble.
Maybe they should put taxi signs on police cars.
Uh what? If the most "liberal" thing would have caused everybody to die, how in the hell is the EU still populated? Holy shit guy, calm the fuck down about the durn liebrals trying to take your guns. The US has too big a fucking hardon over guns for anything like that to even happen so just let people discuss that shit without getting ridiculous about it happening.
Holy shit guy, calm the fuck down about the durn liebrals trying to take your guns.
I see a lot of 'hah hah calm down nobody's trying to take away your guns' from even the American media but when we've got politicians advocating for measures up to and including outright confiscation it's pretty clear what they're intending. Media that loves to focus on mass shootings with not a word about mass shooters being stopped by legal gun owners doesn't help things. When you've got one-sided reporting with a healthy dose of condescension, only showing one side of the argument and basically calling anyone who disagrees a paranoid gun fetishist, why would it surprise you that people get defensive?
Well no, the most "liberal" thing would have probably ended up with the shooter not having access to a gun in the first place, and either not going through with wanting to kill people, or trying to use something that takes way more effort to do so with.
No. The most liberal thing would have seen this cabbie simply calling the police and running for cover. The guy intending to commit mass murder would have simply driven to the nearest gang-ridden hellhole and bought a black market pistol there. Hell, it may have actually ended up being worse, since if he's gonna be buying an illegal gun anyway he might as well buy an automatic. One can kill/maim/wound a much larger portion of the crowd with a fully automatic Mac 10 than they can with a semi-automatic 9mm. The only people who would go along with a federal gun ban are gonna be the law abiding citizens that aren't ever gonna commit a gun crime anyway. The people that truly need to be disarmed, that the liberals are trying to disarm with their calls for gun bans, are the ones that don't follow the law and thus won't turn in their hardware.
