Employee of Israeli arms manufacturer may have been murdered in Saudi Arabia
Hours before his body was found on the ground outside his third-floor hotel room in Saudi Arabia, Christopher Cramer texted his roommate back in the States, “I think something bad is going to happen to me tonight.” It was around 2 a.m. in New Hampshire when the message arrived, and Cramer was dead by the time his friend read the text. Almost immediately, Saudi authorities called it a suicide.

In the absence of a transparent and thorough investigation into Cramer’s death, his nephew and lawyer have come up with their own theory. They both suggest Cramer may have been killed for getting on the wrong side of a corrupt Saudi contracting officer and threatening a lucrative arms deal. The evidence for that charge relies almost entirely on hearsay, but it seems more plausible to them than a suicide.

For 12 years before his death, Cramer worked for Kollsman Inc., a New Hampshire-based defense company that sells weapons parts and provides technical support to go along with them.
Their Parent company is ELBIT, an Israeli defense company.
“According to Kulik, before the big demonstrations the equipment was checked out and worked fine,” Mandell said. But “when Chris and people showed up nothing worked. All the circuits were down.”
“In two hours, Chris got everything working,” Mandell said. “That upset people because they didn’t want it to work.”
That is game of thrones shit right here
Yeah you don't tell someone you're afraid for your life, suggesting you want to remain living, and then kill yourself.
There's not much that can be done seeing as no country will be willing to deal with the Saudis unfortunately
But I would also be speculating that they killed him, no way he would end it with the way he worded his text
Almost immediately, Saudi authorities called it a suicide.
How exactly do the Saudis get away with this shit?
Oh right. Lots of oil money.
isn't that the company that builds the hi-power clones?

I don't think so.

That's just plain taunting. What bastards.
I hate Saudi Arabian government so fucking much. They are fucking wild.
Like I said, having lived in that country myself, it's an irredeemable shithole. The single most destructive, abhorrent culture I've ever encountered in my life. There are a few Saudi FPers, mostly decent people from what I've seen, who may not like the terms in which I've described their country, but will tell you themselves that what I say here is true:
Women are treated like cattle. When outside the house, they must wear a full-body burka at all times. If they're caught outside without their husbands, brothers or fathers, they're arrested and flogged. If they're pretty enough, they may be mysteriously kidnapped, raped, and then turn up dead weeks later - which the government will pass off as them having met with an accident.
Being caught practicing any religion that is not Islam is grounds for a flogging - If you're a preacher or a figure of religious authority, you're beheaded. My family was catholic, and on days like Christmas and Easter we held masses in secret in the homes of other Catholics, with lookouts posted to warn of religious police in the area.
You're executed if you're gay.
People who cross the rich elite disappear and wind up dead.
In Mecca, which is a city only open to Muslims, people on Hajj (pilgrimage) are given quarters segregated by sex and skin color, with pale-skinned Arabs getting the best provisions.
If all of that isn't bad enough, anyone with enough money or royal connections is held to be above the law. The courts and the police are their tools, and will cover up any wrongdoings they commit, including - frequently - murder. They can live without the fetters of the backwards rules instituted by the theocracy that everyone else is subject to.
Fuck that place. Some parts of the Middle East are beautiful, and have relatively cosmopolitan views. Saudi Arabia is a country in which having a complex about your micropenis is the mainstream way of life.
Some of my info may be out of date, since I haven't lived there for nineteen years. Given all the news we've been hearing from Saudi Arabia, though, it doesn't look like much has changed.

Yeah, and I also doubt much will change with Salman in power.

they really like being US allies
To be honest, you all may rate me dumb for this, but why do we support non-secular states when, you know, we are supposed to be a secular state? I know, oil money and all that but anyways.

I'm fine with Mecca being Muslim only but that's just abhorrent.
what I woulf like to know is why
what I woulf like to know is why
Why he was killed? The guy represented an Israeli arms manufacturer that was trying to win a contract by selling TOW missile optics to the Saudi government. The unit in question had been in Saudi Arabia for some time in the possession of the government, and he was to demonstrate its operation. Competing with his company for the contract was a Saudi arms manufacturer. The person representing the Saudi company, probably someone with money or connections to the Royals, sabotaged the unit he was about to demonstrate, and when he found out he repaired it easily. Angered by this, the rep for the Saudi company had him murdered, and the cops covered it up for him.
Hopefully Israel, as I respect it, will not back down from the barbaric Saudi government...I hope they embarrass them and redeem this man's life.

He's an American citizen, who happened to be in the employ as a sales rep of an Israeli company.
