• Collaboration with Etzolin

Since he's not starting a thread about it, i guess i'm going to do it. Copypaste from my site: During the last three days, me and Etzolin has been working on a song. It’s called “12 Hours”, it’s a bit different from my other music, but not far from. It’s a mixture between trance and house. Atleast that’s what i think. Information The reason we named it “12 Hours” is because we’ve spent around 12 hours, from the first notes and ideas, to the final tweaking and mastering. Download You can also stream it at my site (Goto post) Tell us what you think :3: (Apparently the mp3 wasn't uploaded correctly, going to fix this now) - fixed

Work on some buildups (for example at 5:18, it sounds rather unfitting, and the melody afterwards isn't really an explosion of happiness). I'd suggest some cutoff filters on some instruments to help build up to the apex sections so your song gets more interesting, also you could add some low volume high pitched instrument with reverb and synced delay somewhere, with just a few notes, giving your song more dimension. Edit: Eitherway, I found it very relaxing, but this doesn't really sound like house at all tbh. Great and great. Good job. Edit 2: You could remove the thing at 5:18, leaving the snares reverb. It would sound better in my opinion.
Going to write C&C as I listen to it. The beginning was pretty boring, and I would tweak the ambient pad a bit to move away from the sort of 90s/moogish sound it has. When the song built up with the snare roll, which could use a little more oomph, it got really good. The bass is perfect and fits right between the drums and melody. Also, the trance/house sweeps you have between every few sets of bars sounds nice, adds that effect to keep the listener interested. The melody is relaxing, and I haven't found any part of the song overbearing at all. The mix is great, you did a nice job mastering this as well. Just hit the second little climax. Once again, put much more oomph into it so that the climax has a little more euphoria. I like the bass sound effect/sweep right before the next set of bars hits for the climax, nice touch (reminds me of what Stoneface & Terminal did with Super Nature). I was afraid for your lead at first, but it fits nicely in the song, and the synth isn't piercing and doesn't interfere with the rest of the mix. The piano breakdown is great, really liking this. Sounds very good in the song with the ambient pads in the background. It is a decent way to end the song, but you should include this in the other breakdown areas and maybe even include it in the second climax. Overall, excellent song. Genre-wise, I'd say this is more trance/ambient than trance/house. 12 hours is a long time, but put much more time into it. Also, don't get discouraged when nobody replies, the art section here is notorious for ignoring the electronic musicians, which is why I stopped posting my stuff in it. I know ratings aren't much, but I threw an artistic your way. Keep up the great work! [editline]04:24PM[/editline] As I listen through it a second time, there's one last thing I decided to pick at. In your plucked melody/arp, the note at the end of each bar has the higher note that perks up. A few of these sounded kinda off. Listen through it a few times, maybe you can hear what I'm talking about. Oh, and the slight sidechain effect on the pad is another nice touch.
Good work, the drums and the bass are a match made in heaven and the quirky synth lead is quite fitting. Definitly keep it up.
