So, its almost time to order a class ring at my school. My mom wants me to get one (even though i'm only a sophomore at the time) and the one that she wants to get is around 600$ with everything added onto it. honestly, i'd rather spend 600$ on something that i would use more often. if i would get that ring, i would probably never use it after the first time i got it, because i wouldn't want it to get stolen at school or lose it. she insists on buying it no matter how many times i tell her i don't want it and i'd rather spend it on something more useful. i've honestly never seen anyone with a class ring on. it's basically just a 600$ reminder of school, even though you could do the same with a picture that costs way less.
so, facepunch, what do i do? do i get the ring or do i tell her to save the money?

Get a new GPU and CPU.
And an anal sex toy. "For the lulz" of course.
Save it.
Tell her to save the money, though if it's hers you can't really do anything to stop it if she's adamant.

Get 600 1$ prostitutes, or 1 600$ prostitute.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is a class ring?
Waste of money.
The fuck is a class ring?

Is she paying for it?
I was able to convince my mom that spending that much money on such a small thing is pointless. Though we aren't exactly the richest family so it wasn't hard to do.

And they still won't blow you

You can't say that if you've only got 4 posts and your name is 'best poster'. Seriously.
Oh look, I didn't know what a class ring was either, but it sure was difficult looking it up

Sell the ring to an idiot classmate, buy something for your mom. The woman probably deserves something for spoiling you like that.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is a class ring?
Is it that hard to Google it?
Also, excuse me if this is normal to everyone but I have no idea what a class ring is.
Oh wait, I have google brb
I wish I could've gotten one. Just get something badass?
Class rings are for highschool they have the year you graduate and your schools emblem on them.
Dude, class rings look bad ass, you will probably regret not getting one in 10 years or so, How long is a new pc gonna last you? I would go for the ring, but thats just me.
Wait, who is paying for it? Your mom or you? If it's you, then just tell the damn bitch that you're not spending your hard earned cash on some silly ring.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is a class ring?
A class ring is a ring that has your graduation year on it, the school name, then you can pretty much choose whatever else you want on it, like medical images if you take a medical class, or art, sport etc. You can choose the stone for it and all that too.
thread title "forcing me to buy"
OP post "or do i tell her to save the money? "
Which is it, who's paying for it? that makes all the difference in the replies
Hold your ground. If you don't want to spend your money on something pointless, don't do it.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is a class ring?
This. I know that certain universities have a ring they give you, but I doubt he is at the university.
Is she paying for it?
yes
If she's paying for it, you can tell her you're not interested and that you think that the money could be used for a better use. If she still insists, then quit whining. It's not like it's your money she's using

"build-a-ring workshop"
Just tell her you won't wear it. It's not like she can force you to, and if she buys the ring anyway then she's a fucking idiot.

lol
Looks cheap and crap. Why the hell blow $600 on something you're probably never going to wear?
