The announcement will occur at 6AM Pacific / 9 AM Eastern time, and the discussions will be led by Apple CEO Tim Cook and Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer. Apple specifically notes that the call will be focused on Apple’s decision, not on the current quarter or topics besides the company’s cash reserves. Apple says that the press can dial in at (877) 616-0063 (toll-free) or (719) 219-0041. They must enter confirmation code 592016. However, anyone can listen in via Apple’s QuickTime streaming website. Apple’s cash reserves have been a long topic of discussion as Apple has continuniously said that it is pleased with its reserves, but is not ready to announce what they plan to do with the money. An Apple dividend has been long expected, but other than that, not much has been rumored. We’ll be covering the call live tomorrow morning. Apple’s full press release is after the break.
http://9to5mac.com/2012/03/18/apple-decides-what-it-is-going-to-do-with-its-cash-announcing-tomorrow-via-6am9am-conference-call/ This should be very interesting. This may very well be Steve Jobs' Third Act which could be a very big deal, it could be an investment in a new technology or industry, a major acquisition, or perhaps a bailout for the U.S. government. Or it could be a giant dividend for investors, which I hope is not true. But one thing you can be sure of, is whatever it is, it's going to be interesting.
"We're giving it all to charity. Just kidding."
Then they spend it on another Ipad.
Please be charity? EDIT: Seriously, that's one 600th of the entire world's money. That kind of money going into a charity would make shit happen. As long as it isn't Invisible Children, or PETA.
Aren't they making a new eco-friendly HQ with solar panel roofs and shit?
Use it to fund another few years of copyright trolling.
They're going to spend it all on legal fees trying to copyright some shit that they believe they own.
They're going to use it to buy a third world country.
They're making an Apple theme park. Everything is white and you need to pay for each ride individually.
They're going to use it to buy a third world country.
And then patent all its inhabitants.
I hope they drop millions of fake ipads on 3rd world countries.
There are so many good things you could do with that money.
pay off some of the U.S.'s debt
They will bailout the U.S , but install an Apple-themed autocracy with the decapitated yet fully functional Steve Jobs at the helm of the country.
or perhaps a bailout for the U.S. government.
Yes... clearly apple will bail out a government for no reason by giving them the equivalent of 1% of their national debt
They can give me a million dollars. It would last my entire life.
That is a scary amount of money for a company to have at its disposal.
Hookers and blow.
My Birthday is on the 20th Give at least $1000 to me
hey apple i have a very simple request. don't make this something disgusting and horrible that any human being with basic compassion should despise. it's just that obviously your PR department consists of incontinent monkeys so i just wanted to give you a good heads-up
"hey apple dont spend your money on your company just blow it on something unrelated because i think companies should care more about compassion than profits"
yeah that's the basic gist of what i'm saying just condensed down into fewer words.
yeah that's the basic gist of what i'm saying just condensed down into fewer words.
If Apple decided to throw that money in a fire pit it wouldn't be any of our business. They made it they can do whatever they want with it and the internet hate machine can deal with that.

World Domination.
Give iPads to schools or something like that, I bet. They've been really into the education thing lately.
Possibly could be used for that Apple city that they were making a fuss over a while back?
Solid platinum and diamond-encrusted Steve Jobs statue? Probably just massive stock dividends...
Give iPads to schools or something like that, I bet. They've been really into the education thing lately.
I'd like them to use that cash to make a real difference in society. I'd be real dissapointed if they use that money to give their shareholders a dividend.
My Birthday is on the 20th Give at least $1000 to me
They have enough to give $1000 to you and 99,999,999 other people That's a lot of money.
