Makes it even more apparent what happened with the prequels. Lucas no longer had people around him to tell him what shit was retarded anymore.
Those deleted scenes wouldn't be out of place in the prequels.

Lucas was more of a visionary and a go-getter than a director. A movie like Star Wars wouldn't have happened without him.

Define go-getter. He was the right man in the right place, but his laziness on-set when directing is well-documented.
He is capable of being WILDLY creative and has the ability of creating immensely interesting fictional worlds, he just doesn't know how to manifest them into masterful film without plenty of assistance from people who actually know how to do it.
If the prequels had like a team of expert dudes cooperating with Lucas they could have easily been as good as the original trilogy, but there never seemed to be a case where someone had the authority to explicitly tell Lucas that his shit didn't work and needed more refinement.
Plinkett basically said the same thing, how in the making of footage everyone who was around Lucas was sort of frightened or obedient and any sort of criticism was only offered as a polite suggestion instead of a demand, and Lucas basically mentioned firing an editor as soon as the editor attempted to offer legitimate harsh resistance against the clusterfuck that he was ordered to do.
Lucas was basically fucked in the ass by his own success and the newfound comfort of no longer being in the position of having to take other people's shit without realizing that taking other people's shit was crucially important to truly turning Star Wars into something excellent.
Im starting to wish Lucan had been kept on as a consultant/producer for the post Disney buy out.
TCW is another really good example of how the right people can manage Lucas' ideas really well and, at least IMO, is a positive closing chapterm on his time with SW. It's just a shame he'd driven so many people away by that point

And one of the saddest fucking things was watching him at the premier of TCW all bitter and upset and basically saying that he didn't want to deal with people's shit anymore and that he was planning to just cocoon himself in his house and make movies for his friends and no one else.
It's pretty clear that he was astronomically fucking bummed out by the whole prequel thing, and I also suspect that he actually may have watched the Plinkett reviews and got pretty fucked up about them as well and possibly being extremely sad about how brutally right he was about the movies and perhaps wishing that he would have done things differently.
You can practically FEEL this searing disappointment from the man in the premier video, it's written on his face.
Im sorry but what is TCW? The new trilogy?
Why do people consider Plinkett and RLM the one and only reviewer in the entire galaxy

The Clone Wars

Their videos are imo the most indepth and critical of the prequels more then any review i've seen, they also got a lot of popularity/attention specifically because of them. I was fine with the prequels, a little boring, but their videos really showed just how much less thought was put into them compared to the originals.

They were the first to actually sit down and do an in-depth analysis of why the films were so terrible, especially in comparison to the original trilogy. They put to words what fans had known for a while but didn't have the ability to so comprehensively explain.

They were one of the earlier critical reviewers on the internet. They got a ton of views and it was new at the time to hear exactly, in detail, what went wrong.

Its ironic that he spent so long re-editing the originals when it was the new ones that needed it the most yet I don't think theres even one re-edit of them from him

The Plinkett review shows why this happened for Phantom Menace:

Too many of the scenes are too intrinsically linked for any edit to not break the whole movie's continuity. I imagine the same thing happened with the next two.
