Goddamn anti-vaxxers, Jonas Salk must be rolling in his grave.
If anyone can watch a video like this and still be anti-vax I honestly wish polio upon them, and I don't think that's too edgy of a viewpoint considering the circumstances.
It's a shame that so much good in the world, I.E the eradication of Polio in first world countries could be reversed because of a bunch of stupid people. And it's not those stupid people that have to suffer, but the next generation.

You would think someone would be able to make something less ridiculously inconvenient.
You would think someone would be able to make something less ridiculously inconvenient.
There's really no need for it. Modern technology has brought us mechanical ventilators that use positive pressure to deliver air into the lungs. The problem here is that these things are costly and require an active supply of oxygen to the device. There was a negative pressure device called the cuirass that only mounted to the torso, but it isn't suitable for long term use due to its habit of falling off and causing rather severe skin damage. I'm not sure if they have any modern developments on that design but it isn't used anymore iirc. I have a very strong belief that if someone wants to risk large scale societal outbreak of a disease based on their stupid pseudo-science beliefs they read in Flat Earth Quarterly then they should be exposed to the very diseases they clearly don't understand the need to vaccinate against. I don't wish anything as serious as death upon them from it, but I really fucking hate people who can be given the kinds of knowledge we have to give in 2018 and still believe in absolute snake oil tier homeopathic bullshit.
