I'll never forget how much rule34 this show made.
So this is going to be a series of six movies, I assume each at least an hour long. It'll probably be purty, but it's probably going to take ages to come out.
I really wonder how they're going to treat 02, and if they're going to introduce a bunch of stuff from the wider canon or however it works that I've been hearing about like the Royal Knights stuff.
I know they're using Omni/Omegamon in the trailer but I just want to see Wargreymon.
Seeing Joe was a trip, I forgot that dude existed.

They've made the characters like... too anime-styled.
If it weren't for the names popping up, I wouldn't have even recognized half of them. They could have kept it a little simpler

Ehh. I'm not really digging the artystyle (i think its the noses and eyes that i gotta get used to), but I was able to recognize nearly all of them, and I didn't even watch the show when I was younger. Though I did watch that one movie a bit

I remember finding the whole (sans one episode) first season of Digimon from Youtube - in Japanese and English subs - and watching the whole thing.
It felt good to tie in some loose ends from my childhood when I missed parts of story. And, well, to get a bit wet-eyed for the ending.
I never really got into digimon as a child pokemon was more popular but I remember as a child going to taco bell and getting digimon toys in my meals. Digimon show was pretty cool though.

I hope they make 02 non-canon in this universe. The epilogue was shit. Only thing I liked about it was Jo becoming a doctor, Taichi becoming an ambassador and Ken becoming a detective. But come on, Daisuke becoming a noodle cart owner that gets so famous he gets on the front of time magazine? Seriously?

I never had the nostalgia for the show, as Pokemon was more my thing, but watching some of it now nearly 15 years later, its a decent show, if not a bit cheesy sometimes (in the English version at least). But its a kid's show, what can you expect?
I do find it interesting that Netflix bothered to get both the original Japanese and English Dub of the show. Supposedly the Japanese version is a bit better. I watched the original Japanese Digimon movies (out of curiosity) and they are far above the Digimon Movie, which is just a mashed up version of the 3, that we got in the West. And surprisingly easy to get into, despite knowing very little about Digimon.

When i've read that Toei was working on anime adaptation of this manga when the PSP game of DA was in development, i was pretty darn excited. But it turned out to be April Fools, which is a damn shame.

I was talking about the Digimon Adventure anime that everyone remembers from the late 90s-early 2000's. Not that Digimon was for kids in general.

It was written by the guy responsible for Serial Experiments Lain and the staff of the anime wanted to do something a bit different, so there's a reason why it basically ends up as a far less nihilistic and demented "Evangelion for kids" since it essentially picks apart nearly everything but the values of friendship that the first two series established.
That doesn't mean it isn't damn good, though. :v:
