I think people do it for the thrill of it. I can't honestly believe that someone who's willing to wait for around 96 hours camping in front of a store in NYC didn't think to just pre-order the phone online the instant it was available. I think this is more about the experience than actually being among the first to get the phone.

I still don't know why people camp for a phone, I understand being there for midnight releases and such which is totally cool but unless you're buying a hard copy ticket because you want to use it to increase your e-penis later on, I will never understand camping for a phone
