• People Line Up 4 Days Before iPhone 5 Release

Already there's reports of people populating the 5th street NYC Apple Store in hopes of being some of the first people to attain an iPhone 5. Man, good thing I pre-ordered. http://www.fashionnstyle.com/articles/3298/20120917/iphone-5-line-begins-nyc-apple-store-preorder-shipping.htm
according to the weather channel there's going to be strong winds and thunderstorms tomorrow in new york. http://www.weather.com/weather/5-day/New+York+NY+10007:4:US they picked a bad time to line up.
I never quite got lining up for days before something like this. A concert I can understand since those tickets are finite. But an electronic device?
buying it and camp outside the apple store? ppffffff...
Most of these people are journalists and re-sellers but yes there are a few dumb diehards.
Apple must be pissing themselves in excitement, they got their fans right where they want them at this point.

I think people do it for the thrill of it. I can't honestly believe that someone who's willing to wait for around 96 hours camping in front of a store in NYC didn't think to just pre-order the phone online the instant it was available. I think this is more about the experience than actually being among the first to get the phone. Regardless, these folk are pathetic.
safe to say none of them have jobs (or none of them value their jobs enough to, you know, not take 5 days off to camp in front of a building in NYC for a slightly new phone)
Good for them.
I still don't know why people camp for a phone, I understand being there for midnight releases and such which is totally cool but unless you're buying a hard copy ticket because you want to use it to increase your e-penis later on, I will never understand camping for a phone
if people didn't do this for luxury products so often it could probably pass as an onion article it's kinda like a sad commentary on modern society
It's the same for when people camp outside stores for Black Friday. I've seen camps set up in parking lots a week before Black Friday. All for some medicore deals.
if people didn't do this for luxury products so often it could probably pass as an onion article it's kinda like a sad commentary on modern society
These are the times we live in.
Too much shit happens on Black Friday. They start fucking shooting.
I worked at a hardware store on Black Friday 3 years back. I worked in the lawn and garden department and we got maybe a collective 50 customers all day :v:
It's a FUCKING PHONE.
some people are just really really bored
Ahahah I hope these people get rained on badly.
Apple must be pissing themselves in excitement, they got their fans right where they want them at this point.
Uh, people have been camping out for flagship electronics for years. I mean some people even camped out for like a week for the Wii so. :v:

Wow.
why did i read the title as people line up 4 dead
Because waiting a month and getting it cheaper is SOO hard? Besides at launch there's pretty much ALWAYS some software bugs, early adopters are always paying beta testers.
Can't wait for the geniuses to go outside and sell the people waiting 20-pin-to-lightning adapters to sate their hunger
I can understand waiting but 4 days? If I could I'd be at the Halo 4 midnight release but only a couple hours early at most.
according to the weather channel there's going to be strong winds and thunderstorms tomorrow in new york.
it's the will of Steve Jobs beyond the grave
When can I buy one and how much will it cost? Apple confirmed yesterday that the iPhone 5 will be released on September 21. Unlocked, the phone will cost £529 (16GB), £599 (32GB) and £699 (64GB)
Yeah.... No. Edit:
The Apple iPhone 5 looks a lot like the iPhone 4S but it's thinner, by 18 per cent, and lighter, by 20 per cent. The screen is taller too, at 4-inches corner to corner, but the phone, held in portrait mode, is the same width. Instead of a glass back, the iPhone 5 back and sides are made from a single piece of aluminium.
Not to be completely biased. I can imagine they're even more flimsy now.
