Looks alright, reminds me of the zombie games in gmod years ago.
I don't know much else behind this so why would it rated dumb?

Probably a troll. I honestly had some doubts on the game after seeing their latest trailer before kickstarter. Looks pretty good for a $15 game.
I hope this gets heavily funded, Contagion seems like a really great game and I would love to see long term support.
I fucking love Zombie Panic! Forever and would gladly play it when I'm old and on my deathbed. I'm hyped as fuck for Contagion.
This looks kick-ass!
Consider it pledged!
i streamed it a couple nights ago.

was talking to the ceo/founder of monochrome in chat and he joined us for a couple games of the hunted gamemode.
a few things have changed since 2 days ago because of a recent bug fix.
looks like a pretty unique take on MP zombie games, not much i can really compare it to with it having stealth and other features very few mods or full games can say they have. pvp looks really interesting too
That gore is sick
like 90's sick, not bleh sick
This looks pretty fun, also does this mean we have an infinite supply of dimes to flick at everything? :v:
They could have picked a name that isn't also a popular movie.

Pretty sure they had the name long before the movie was produced.
Also, I find the graphics in all aspects to be lacking, and the mapping quite bland and dull.

Yea they need to work on the looks because it looks like another source engine mod right now imo.
The animation looks really rough, considering this project has been worked on since 2010 as far as i can remember. Regardless, it looks pretty good.
Also, everything being like the fan favourites from zpo is just great. Static objectives were always way more mundane and less exciting. The smartphone addition completely eases in new players, something that the old ZP:S was highly lacking. I can't remember the amount of times I'd have to say or even just type at the beginning of the round for reference that the keys were in big hall and red hall. The new game mode feels akin to DayZ, and I miss the vanilla experience, so I'm glad they added PvP for once. Hopefully they bring Whitey back. And the new infection system, the only non-vanilla thing I liked about the system was the pills being able to cure infection. There needs to be at least two paths for infection, one should be being able to cure yourself, and the other turning on your teammates. It provides something for people who completely give up and say "oh yeah im infect so pls jus bash my brains in!"
As much as the new zombie system completely goes away from ZP:S roots, it kills the mundanity of the game almost entirely. There were a lot of boring moments where you would expect players to be, with only the really damn good guys knowing all the right spots. It still preserves the value of ammunition because player-controlled zombies still exist, but does away with the more acquired-taste portion of ZP:S.

I currently am in the Beta and can say the graphics are much better than this in the inside areas. I was actually suprised how much detail they really had.
So far, these guys had to pay all their licenses themselves, I really hope this kickstarter succeeds.
It looks awesome, except I dislike the somewhat heavy amount of third-person kill animations.
Expected it to be free like it should.
Expected it to be free like it should.
do you have any valid reason why or is it just "its on source"
Expected it to be free like it should.
Yea, because buying a full source + other program licenses is not expensive at all :downs:
Being totally honest here it's looking like DayZ fused with l4d2 but missing all of the atmosphere those games have. I understand it's on the l4d2 engine branch, but the tough question I find myself asking is what does it really offer that DayZ doesn't? There a lot of things DayZ does on a bigger scale which source just can't handle technically and I feel give the fact a few zombie games have come out of recent you need to sort of address that issue. It's an unfortunate result of being in dev for like a million years.
On a feedback note a lot of things really stand out needing some wok, and they are little knacks I am surprised to see given how long this game has been in dev.
Quarter landing on the grass and making a clink sound.
Climb animations looking pretty fugly. On animations it also looks like there isn't much blending going on, there's some weird jittering present there and some odd "gliding" happening with some of the walk cycles.
Holding your smartphone right up to your right eyeball totally made me laugh. Was the character he was demoing off an old man?
Lighting is pretty bland. It doesn't look like you guys even compiled any shadows for alphatested materials. There were straightup some areas in the trailer that didn't have any shadows at all. Like there were a few tree models in the park not casting them.

Playable (and less glitchy) zombies, forced coop, actual objectives, smoother gameplay and interesting maps.
Ugly animations and bland lighting are more apparent in dayZ than in this game, the arma engine isn't exactly the best when it comes to beautiful scenery.

Engines being capable of amazing scenery is totally subjective. It's just based on the artists you have on the project.
The l4d2 engine branch offers some nice features such as animation blending and animation layers.
DayZ offers nothing you can't do in ArmA. If you wonna play PVP there is much better missions and servers designed for that, same as objective based co-op zombie missions.

contagion isn't on the l4d2 engine. confirmed by tatsur0 in my stream when i asked him.

Why do people keep comparing Contagion to DayZ they are two completely different games. I mean what makes them really relate able?
Source Engine. Nope. It had its time. The gamemodes sound great though.

Besides zombies and guns, nothing.

Portal 2, l4d2, same thing really. I'd be shocked if they were insane enough to work with any branch under those, like source 2007-2009
