[sp]That queso dip looked amazing[/sp]
"No water, no milk" Guy Fieri is a beast
seems like a chill dude
Yeah man holy shit. That last bit about teaching kids to cook, yeah.. I really think that should be a thing. I know there's cooking class in school but you don't really do much there. I also realize some parents just don't have the time to teach their kids and many don't even have an interest. My brother would fuck up trying to boil water in a pot btw. :P
Strap yourselves in, we're going to flavour town
Man, that queso dip looked real good.
I only know Guy Fieri from stills and memes, never in a million years did I expect him to be so down-to-earth and human. That soapbox bit was awesome.
No wonder why my family loves his show. He's cool as hell and just loves food. We went into a restaurant he stopped by one time and their chicken parmesan sandwiches were amazing just what he recommended!

I don't really get where the memes or internet reputation came from but admittedly I haven't looked into any of it to see if it's true or just part of the joke.
Having ate at one of his restaurants holy shit so good, holy shit so much carbs
I knew of him before the memes, but not to a deep extent. Kind of forgot about him for awhile until Vinny started screaming "RIGHT 'ERE" on some of his streams a couple of years back. He always looked like more of a TV personality than a person with some actual merit in terms of food, but it's nice to see that he does have a genuine passion for food. The memes are nice, but it sort of makes me sad in a sense that some of the passion that people like Guy Fieri and Gordon Ramsey have for their craft are almost overshadowed by said memes these days.
didn't he officiate 100 gay couples on miami beach a few years ago?
I'm not so sure the memes are necessarily a bad thing. We lampoon what we love.
I hate this show so much... but only because it makes my mouth water for hot wings. Awesome episode!
I'm not so sure the memes are necessarily a bad thing. We lampoon what we love.
it's like Smashmouth and All Star, nobody actually dislikes them
The Eddie Huang video Sean mentioned is fucking incredible
The memes are nice, but it sort of makes me sad in a sense that some of the passion that people like Guy Fieri and Gordon Ramsey have for their craft are almost overshadowed by said memes these days.
Well, it helps with discovery. People who don't usually watch cooking shows wouldn't know about Gordon if it wasn't for the breakdowns and memes, same with Guy. I'm sure this video is gaining traction because it pops up in people's feeds and they link it to "Flavortown guy from twitter"

Nah. Nobody in the cooking industry likes him. He's more tv personality than cook, and its pretty easy to see why. Passion in junk food, sure.
People who can tolerate extremely spicy food are like a freak show. I've been on holiday with an Indonesian friend who pours hot sauce on everything. We were at a restaurant where the chef noticed he could handle his spiciest foods without even breaking a sweat and even asked for some more spicy sauce, so he walked up to our table and started feeding the guy progressively spicier and spicier raw peppers. Eventually, they had guys from other restaurants coming over to bring their rarest of hot peppers to feed to him in an effort to try and be the one to break him. He just kept eating them, nodded and said: "Yeah, that one's hot too. Can I please just eat my food now?"

You're not going to be able to handle the heavyweights immediately, you have to start at the bottom and work your way up slowly. I used to not be able to handle many hot cheetohs when I was a kid now I can eat ramen so spicy that the broth is red and makes people shudder in fear. I've even surpassed my parents and all my family members. I can handle habaneros fine but once I get to ghost chilis and above, I get fucked up
I can handle spicy, it's my throat that can't, I'm a big fan of Hot fries and the Jalapeno cheese cheetos because they taste good but once it hits my throat it starts itching like crazy

Because I've always been able to handle spicy foods. I ate jalapenos like they were nothing when I was less than 5, and I could handle habaneros maybe just a couple of years later. I can also handle ghost peppers most times with no problem. I will say that the Mad Dog 357 sauce is pretty damn brutal though. I had a burger called the "Volcano Burger" at one of my local burger joints a few years back that had that sauce cooked into the meat as well as slathered on. I couldn't finish it because of all the coughing I did and I felt like I was on the verge of vomiting. My stomach was in intense pain (to where moving was even a chore) for around 3 hours. So, they definitely aren't wrong when they say "a little dab will do ya." Any more than that, and if you can't handle spicy foods, you may end up in the hospital.

Someone I know who can handle spicy food was eating a spicy hoagie the other day. They warned me that it was very spicy and to be careful. I ate the half and it genuinely wasn't that hot to me. Everyone else who tried was like "WOAH THAT'S HOT!" The things that used to be hot to me now barely register. [editline]29th April 2017[/editline] And habeneros aren't really that hot.
This just means you have to go hotter.
This sounds like drug addiction
All you people talking about being able to choke down fire like it's nobody's business. Then you have me over on the other end who has to run off to get a glass of milk whenever I eat something that, unwittingly to me, has ground black pepper on it. Yes, as in the "salt and pepper" pepper you get standard at restaurant tables. I swear, if my spice tolerance were any lower, water would be too spicy for me. :v:

I always wondered, is there any bad repercussions for eating spicy food down the line in terms of your colon/stomach/esophagus? Whenever I eat spicy food, while I love it, I always pay for it the day after. Maybe I'm just paranoid since colon cancer runs in my family, but I can't imagine the host's body is unscathed after dabs and dabs of that hell sauce. I'm talking years down the line.

I felt incredibly offended that they weren't spicy despite seeing buffalo redness on the breaded chicken. But the price was 2$ for 6 and the meat was good so I didn't complain too much.
What a legit dude. Also, he fucking destroyed this challenge lmao. Most people starting losing their minds around the half way point. "Im in a fuckin k-hole"
