Derren Brown takes a man who takes his life for granted and makes him see the error of his ways by creating an end of the world scenario in extreme detail. Part 1 of 2 aired a few ours ago and it was really intense. I recommend watching it on 4oD if you live in the UK or try to find it elsewhere. Just watched some of it, pretty skeptical about the fact that he's hypnotised the whole time, but it seems like a cool premise.
I'm sorry, But you have to be completely retarded to think this is not all one big act. The way Derren just puts 2 fingers on some guys head causing him to pass out is beyond unreal. Honestly if that was truly possible then why do we still have torture ect in this world?

They did a test of this on Mythbusters, you can only hypnotize a person to do something that they are actually willing to do. Besides, The guy was in a state of extreme stress and was very susceptible to hypnotic suggestion at the time the fake meteor shower happened. At that point his brain would most definetley feel the need to somehow get out of the situation, and Mr. Brown's "Sleep" suggestion seemed like the best idea at the time, so it went with it. I think the closest thing to something a bit less abstract to the average person in regaurds to this would be when they sedate you during surgery sometimes. Personally, when i had my wisdom teeth removed I literally did not remember anything that was happening, but I was told that during the procedure they asked me questions like "Are you doing okay" etc. and I was actually responding. So I think it is very reasonable that something like this could happen. It all depends on how susceptible the person is to hypnosis and if they're willing to do what's suggested. I imagine it wouldn't work as well to some of the people here, who are more closed to the idea of having someone cause you to do something without you asking them to do it, though.
is this for real...?....
