First off this place is amazing, It's the first of it's kind here in Colorado besides some other schools but this one is higher up. It's so spanking brand new that when i went on a tour of the campus yesterday there were parts that had yet to be painted, and desks were still in bubble wrap and what not. The lady I met was the coolest Admissions lady i've met. She was pretty and had a sense of humor, not to mention she actually cared about what i chose....which right now i'm looking at Electrical Engineering Technology, which covers how to maintain the Electrical systems in both Wind Turbines AND Solar Panels. Here is a bit of info on how the wave of the future is going to look like for renewable energy: *USA Today says, "The number of clean energy jobs in the U.S. would more then double by 2025 if the nation adopts a plan to get 25% of its eletricity from renewable energy sources *RES Alliance for jobs study found that a 12% national renewable electricty standard by 2014 will creat 64,000 additional jobs across the USA. A 20% target by 2020 will create 191,000 new jobs. *O Net New and emerging occupations report says, "Significant investment in the renewable energy segment could result in the creation of more then 650,000 jobs in 10 years and more then 1.4 million jobs by 2025. *The center for American Progress Report says, " The stimulus bill is pumping $30 billion in the clean energy sector, and aggressive smart grid deployment could create 270,000 U.S. jobs and futher 138,000 if our smart grid technologies are exported to a global market. Now i know that seems boring but it's not....it's just like how the oil industry was during the begining of the 20th century. A lot of people saw it as the wave of the future and guess what those people and their families are literally swimming in pools of cash. It's history repeating itself. No matter how much the oil compaines might hate it, Green energy is going to be the next big thing give or take 10-20 years, so i would advise people on the fence to get into it as soon as possible because give in 5 years you could be a manager making around 89k a year, in another 5 years potentially triple that salary as an owner of your own company. I am proud to say i'm gonna try my best to hop on this wave and "hang 10" till i can milk every bit of education from this school. http://www.ecotechinstitute.com/ the best place to start would be this. They do offer online courses as well. Some of their other programs besides Electrical Engineering Technology are: Energy and Environmental Paralegal Energy Efficiency Environmental Technology Renewable Ennergy Technology Solar Energy Technology Wind Energy Technology. These are all 2 years program, they basically went to the leading company's for Renewable energy and asked what they have such as requirements to get a job and that is what this school bases their teaching methods off of, the industries requirements. So when you get into the field nothing is shoved in your face and you don't go WTF!!!. I suggest that if you want to work hard and be apart of something big and that can potenitally change not only the USA but the world, i would suggest this.
Oil is going to run out eventually, green energy makes sense.
the environment is a myth
Seems like a really good school. But until we can actually use Nuclear Fusion I'm not going to take a course.
Seems like a really good school. But until we can actually use Nuclear Fusion I'm not going to take a course.
In other words, 20 years from tomorrow. It's always 20 years from tomorrow.
Shitty for-profit school. (Don't even need to look up anything about it, the fact that it's for-profit means it's shit) If you want a 2-year program in environmental sciences, go see about your local community/city college. If you want a four year, look into a normal, non-profit university.
SpaceX needs to create its own school.
It's good i don't care if you think it's a scam or whatever but it's legit, even talked to the dean and they have internships lined up basically after you graduate.
i thought this said 'eotech' and im like 'hell yeah holographic scopes!!' and then i read some boring shit about jobs :/
i thought this said 'eotech' and im like 'hell yeah holographic scopes!!' and then i read some boring shit about jobs :/
Come in here dear boy, have a cigar. We need to talk about your future...
Oil is going to run out eventually, green energy makes sense.
no it doesn't we need to keep using oil so the reptilians will be able to breathe
the environment is a myth
Reality has a liberal bias
