Hi, i'm Olav (@Cellusious), and i have been stalking this forum for quite bit and decided to join now. :) Anyway, i'm a pixel artist and aspiring to become a better concept artist and artist in general. I want feedback, and i would be glad for critique, Here's three selected images i have done the last weeks, "Waiting for Love", 3 minutes used, 6 colors. "The Hunter from the heights" 2 minutes used. "The Mask", 1 minute used. "You're blind for your own mistakes". Harsh feedback is welcome too, but it' has no real impact if you don't argument for it! *Use more time on them!* Tell me, what to use time on, what to focus on please. *make me some art* If you give excellent feedback and ask nicely, i will. I want critique on how to make that style, stronger, can't dodge the critique with "style choice, man" as of that. I would be happy for general feedback and thoughts about colors, mood and "feel" of the pieces. Ideas, thoughts and random feeling are welcome too. for more art, i have a facebook page with art: https://www.facebook.com/Cellusious A deviant art gallery: http://cellusious.deviantart.com/gallery/ And if it's urgent, i got a twitter which i check constantly: https://twitter.com/Cellusious Best regards, i hope i did this right - Olav (@Cellusious). Artist, game designer, musician.
Very nice colour contrast on the top one and the colours you've chosen in general are very nice, it might look quite nice to have some orange/yellow highlights on the grass on the hill and on the plant. :) However, i honestly don't believe that it was done in 3 minutes.

When you do a lot of something, you get faster and faster, until placing the actual pixels is the only thing left.
I love pixel art but can't really critique it And if you actually do those things in a couple of minutes each, why wouldn't you spend more time on it and make it better?

Well again I can't help you with technique and rendering in pixels (although there ARE a couple of incredible pixel artists around here somewhere who could teach you stuff, salmonmarine for one, Vman I think and I'm forgetting someone else) but you could try doing something on a bigger scale. Like a cityscape or jungle or something which isn't just more of the same and has a good deal of work and diverse detail in one piece.
