https://soundcloud.com/bsmoked/guitar-noise-henry-morse I've been playing guitar for just over 2 years, and I been wanting to make my own music since the day I started. I made a few little demo things that weren't very good at all (I still have them if anyone'd like to see haha) but then at the end of summer I got myself a new amp and a recording interface. Finally I could make decent sounding things! My style is heavily influenced by a lot of Japanese stuff like Hikarisyuyo, TMGE and a few other guys that I like to listen to. That's pretty neat. I like the first one for its no frills straight up rock attitude. Good stuff.
Send a few copies out to some major television production companies! I can imagine this stuff being in great in tv shows/ads/etc.
Well I made a new song! Track 4 - Burning Desire http://soundcloud.com/bsmoked/burning-desire I'm really not sure if this is going on the EP. As I say in the description, I kind of had to re-work a load of bits to get it to even sound decent. I still think it sounds really mediocre so it might just be easy to move on to something else.
Meltdown is a brilliant track.
I love meltdown, although I prefer the mix of it you added 3 days ago, Far away friend is really good to. Not a massive fan of bright light at the end of the world but its a pretty decent song. Burning desire is pretty damn good to. I'll ask on here as well, why am I unable to download your sublime tunes dear sir?
Too much half mute sounds, like where it sounds like you tried to palm mute but not. Other than that it's pretty good. [editline]29th October 2012[/editline] I wish the solo was longer in Burning Desire :v:

They're not meant to be palm muted haha, they're just done between chords to make it sound cooler. Idk, it's kind of just my style... Also Burning Desire is getting some solos from a few of my friends in Japan. We're in the middle of sorting it out now!

You're really good at composing these songs. All the tracks are pretty solid, 'Meltdown' being my favourite as it some unique rhythmic content which I love! My only suggestion, would be to add more licks or more of your own little phrases and accents in the context of the verses, as without a vocalist your sections of pure chordage can be rather dry.
It's almost to happy for my taste, it's great composition wise! Really liking this!
This sounds pretty good actually, you should really continue working on this!
Thanks everyone! I'm sorry I haven't put anything new up as I really haven't felt like recording anything this past few weeks. I'll be working on something soon though as I have a few ideas! Really feels good to see all these great comments though, thank you for taking the time to listen to my music!
Bump and stuff but: Track 6 - Free (Instrumental) http://soundcloud.com/bsmoked/free-instrumental A fair bit different to my usual work, but I think it'll go really well as the last song on the EP (Hence why I've skipped track 5 for now, I'm going to work on that next)
Triple post lol... I made a new song! Track 4 - Insomnia https://soundcloud.com/bsmoked/insomnia This is a little interlude track. I always liked it when bands put in little "jams" in the middle of their albums to break them up a bit. I might release the album now... I'll give it a few days to think about :) Also, Burning Desire now has some solos done by my friends: https://soundcloud.com/bsmoked/burning-desire-featuring
Decided to scrap Track 4 because I felt it was a little out of place and not up to par with the rest of my material. With that said, I'm now really fuckin proud to announce the release of GUITAR NOISE! I thought that I was totally burnt out, but I suddenly feel like recording some new songs! I might get to work on a second album soon...
how are you so good at mixing?
how are you so good at mixing?
You mean that? I literally started this whole music production like 4 months ago, and I worked out what I know through trial and error. I tried to copy what other people were doing, which was panned L + R guitars and the drums nice and punchy ;D Thank you very much! :)
Meltdown is brilliant! IMO your music would really benefit from some vocals, but if you want to keep doing instrumental don't mind me.
Meltdown is brilliant! I wrote them all with vocals in mind (Meaning I can put them on later when I find a vocalist) but right now I want to get my song writing and producing nailed. I kinda decided to make this album so I had some demo material to give to a potential vocalist heh Thank you for the kind words :)
you could always go to a voice acting forum or something and hit up some of them cute anime girlus and see if any of them are up for it
you could always go to a voice acting forum or something and hit up some of them cute anime girlus and see if any of them are up for it
But my music isn't kawaii enough~ ):
Ver nice man!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :)
I forgot to comment on this, I love it and I really admire and respect your skills both as a guitarist and a songwriter, the riffs are just amazing and a vocalist would really take this to the next step. Something that really needs some work is the drums however, the guitar got a really good tone although it is really taking over the whole soundscape, a much more well-rounded sound to ,the songs themselves by making sure the drums really kick through would add a lot I believe. I would like to offer my services as a singer by the way, I won't say I'm really good since I've really just started out, but I think that maybe my voice and your blazing riffs could work together  Here's a song I've recorded where I sing the theme to adventure time, but remade so that it is more punk. Tell me what you think and if you think we can make a collaboration
Thanks Skeeter! I agree, the mixing in general needs some work... I haven't been doing any of this stuff for very long so I'm working it all out as I go along ;) Thank you for the singing offer, but at the moment I'd rather just focus on getting out some more songs and overall furthering myself as a musician. Thanks a lot for the offer though, I'd certainly be up for a collab if / when the time is right. :) Thanks!
But my music isn't kawaii enough~ ):
you'd be surprised i'm still mad you turned down my offer to collaborate by the way
you'd be surprised i'm still mad you turned down my offer to collaborate by the way
I'm sorry ): I'm not really looking for a vocalist right now
