I think this is one of those "funny the first time" scenarios; the act is getting a little stale.
People actually found this guy funny?
I think this one is pretty good.
When will people give credit to Tears for Fears?
"I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed" You heard it from the man himself.
guy got famous on facebook for one video then makes 100 of them with the same format are we even surprised
The fucking neckbeard is too distracting and gross for me to even get to the audio portion of the video
At least siivagunner changed up and expanded the formula after a few high quality rips of the same kind of joke.
When will people give credit to Tears for Fears?
hopefully never, because while the lyrics are great, the Tears For Fears instrumentation is awful and "Mad World" is undisputedly one of their worst hit songs. I think the fact that the Gary Jules version charted higher than the original speaks for itself. Credit Orzabal for the writing, but yuck, I'd be happy to never hear the Tears For Fears version again.

The OG tears for fears one sounded like a confused depeche mode song writing was great, vocals were good, tempo was weird, instrumentation was eeeeeeeeh [editline]18th January 2017[/editline] Gary jules version is kinda boring but its honestly executed a lot better
What a horrible opinion
a horrible opinion supported by sales numbers and critical opinion I guess
a horrible opinion supported by sales numbers and critical opinion I guess
obviously he's more qualified than you to talk about music because he has a nmh avatar

-snip-
a horrible opinion supported by sales numbers and critical opinion I guess
Sales number =/= Quality of song The Tears for Fears version was good because the music itself was MAD... MAD not SAD

I feel like the Gary Jules cover sold better and was higher on the charts because it was used a lot more in media. Being in Donnie Darko and the Gears of War trailer, the cover got a lot of media exposure and got around more, which can really sell a song. The fact that so many people think it's the original is more depressing than the cover itself.

I don't think I've met a person yet who believed me when I told them that Hurt was a cover of a Nine Inch Nails song. I've had to look it up and show them every time. :v:
The same time they get credit for Everybody Wants to Rule The World So sadly never
Wait, there's another cover of that song? I have only ever heard of the Tears for Fears version.

But it just so happens that the composition of the Jules version is better suited for placement in dramas and such (because it was written for Donnie Darko). Whereas the original doesn't, as it was more of a straight up pop song. Your not going to encounter it unless your specifically looking for 80s hits or Tears for Fears, so not as many know it exists. Honestly, I like the Tears for Fears version better. It has more personality, its upbeat, and its weird so it stands out more. I'm more amazed that it was their first single to chart.
