PSN gets hit with outage for the first time in 2016
PlayStation users are reporting a mass outage on the PSN network affecting key functions such as being able to play online with friends and unable to purchase or download new titles on the PlayStation Store.
The official PlayStation Network Service Status page is currently showing no known issues, with all services given the green light as "Up and running."
However, users everywhere are reporting error messages telling them the complete opposite. More specifically many are reporting that PSN is currently "undergoing maintenance".

That's just great...
Damn, last time this happened was last year. We were doing so good!

At least they let us change our sub accounts into master accounts [sp]eight years later[/sp]
Now we just gotta wait another eight years and maybe they'll let us change our name for a nominal fee!
It genuinely feels like the PSN has gotten dramatically worse despite them charging for it more and more, PS+ games have gotten far, far worse, stability has gone to shit as well.
I'm either never playing games when these occur or THEY DO NOT EXIST

Don't forget with the PS4 being cheaper than the One there's going to be loads of people that moved from the 360 to it, chances are Sony are cheaping out on their servers so it feels like they're getting worse.
At least it didn't happen during Christmas like last year.
The lowering of consumer standards tends to do that. Go into any thread about PS4/Sony and suggest that you shouldn't have to pay monthly to use your internet on a p2p service and people go apeshit about it, even though it was the same shit they would make fun of Microsoft about in the past.
Because before PS4 came out people were happily paying $40 a year for the PS Plus games. So when PS4 introduced paid multiplayer included in the $40 a year of PS Plus games it didn't really change anything.
If you only owned a PS4, the plus games would be a humongous ripoff
this would piss me off if more than half my games needed a shitty online connection for singleplayer
OH WAIT
It's back online
