Last year, Kotick increased his compensation by 800 percent, seeing $64.9 million entering his bank account. According to Bloomberg, this makes him one of the highest-paid CEOs in the U.S.
...
very well deserved :~)
There comes a point where I wouldn't even know what to do after making a million a year.
Regardless of what you think about Activision, he's doing his job right by the stock holders.

Q: How much money does a man need?
A: Just a little bit more.
65 million dollars to the CEO and they wanna charge $15 for a map pack? Greedy as fuck. Also i bet they did save a ton of money using the same engine since Cod4.

This isn't the Forbes forum.
To box ratings: At least explain to me why we should care about how much money the shareholders are getting.
Some men are so poor all they have is money.

I'm indifferent to that, I'll stay in my current house with a Dodge Challenger and a new pc rig once or twice a year. A few suits to go out day to day and thats all I need. But generically yeah I guess, Most men would want all the money in the world.
“We don’t like any element of this pay package,” said GMI Ratings corporate-governance consultant Nell Minow. "In the past we have expressed concern about this company and its compensation practices."
"The lack of information provided by the compensation committee is a red flag," Minow continued. "It’s very difficult to discern how they determined this compensation package from the information that’s been provided."
Does anyone else really hate this pathetic greedy excuse for a human?
Meanwhile, Activision closes another developer it absorbed some time in the past that had made a few good games.
He's like the Steve Jobs of gaming. A genius when it comes to making money, a piece of shit otherwise.
Argh damnit! I saw the thread title on the main page as "Activision's Bobby K" and I got all excited. What could it be...
"Activision's Bobby Kotick found dead"
"Activision's Bobby Kotick fired"
"Activision's Bobby Kotick bankrupts Activision and chokes to death on an overweight hamster"
I feel quite let down, the news is actually the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I was hoping :(
Hes a great man.
He keeps all the shit little kids playing a terrible game, year after year.
Its just like Notch and minecraft for the PC.
I'm fairly sure that some news source reported this was a mistake, and that his flat pay stayed the same but a large part of it was paid over a 5 year period meaning if you average it out he's making about as much as he usually does (which is still too much)

Not really, I've played games with way worse communities than CoD.

Actually since cod1.

Fuck, can I be poor like him?
Too bad he is only a second tier villain in the gaming industry at the moment.

Don't worry, if we keep sending him overweight hamsters I'm sure he'll try to eat one eventually.
he's gonna grab everything he can before he sells the company
I remember in 2009 and 2010 we had as many Kotick hate threads as we do North Korea or gun threads.
$64 million? Are you fucking kidding me?
No human being deserves to earn that much money in a year for anything short of curing cancer, let alone for running a company that releases the same shit game every year.
It's a terrifying prospect of a man controlling his pay outside sole traders.
Kinda weird how people for the most part have forgotten about how awful Activision is, aside from an occasional thread about CoD. Pretty sure that they've disbanded and fucked with more development teams than any other publisher.

I mean, fuck, dude, Bobby Kotick is a hundred times worse than John Riccitelo was. Bobby raised his salary to like a bazillion dollars, and all Mr. Riccitello did was say stupid shit about DLC and microtransactions. Hell, he pulled EA out of a bad spot a couple few years ago.
Just to give you an idea of how much that is, he is getting paid ~$31,202 per hour.
And that's $8.66 a second. Holy hell.

In an hour he makes more than the majority of Americans make in an entire year. For doing what, exactly? Like, what physical work does he do that is so incredible and exclusive to him to make an hour of his time worth more than I made last year?
Fuck this guy.
Managing an entire company? I don't agree with his pay but a CEO isn't an easy position I would think.
