I find a lot of hate on these music forums for hardcore.
Now, I'm not talking about moshing, hxc dancing, or anything that is attached or related to the genre (that can be included, if you wish).
I'm talking about the music in general, tell me what you like/dislike about it. Detailss
Ask me what I like about it. Et cetera, et cetera.
No, because it's bland and repetitive.
SO repetitive.
I prefer Crust, which is related.
Hit and miss
There's some cool stuff but there SO MUCH FUCKING SHIT!

Crust is good too
I like it when it gets technical.
Breakdowns get boring, but it gets me pumped when I hear a unique one.
For most people, it's just what it stands for, I actually like the music.
There are plenty of genres that I enjoy, myself. But this one is just great. Though, very critisized.

Crust, in my opinion is terrible when compared to Core. I hate Crust.
Are we talking hardcore, post-hardcore, metalcore, etc? A lot of people will say hardcore when they really mean something more specific, just trying to clarify.

I would like to say metalcore. But I hate naming genres. I will look into it. Bands such as: Blind Witness, Arms Like Yours, Emmure, The Word Alive, Abacabb, Close Your Eyes, Holly Springs Disaster, In the Midst of Lions, My Ticket Home. And Such

I didn't word that correctly. They sometimes are boring. The unique ones (the ones that don't just sound like dunnnn dunn duunnnn) are cool.

Nice suggestion. I love them.
Yeah that's the thing.
Unique breakdowns don't exist.

You just haven't heard any.
Give me a few examples then

Veil of Maya - We bow in it's aura.
To the Lions - Breathless
When all else fails - Dramasterful mutant dinosaurs
Plenty more where that came from if you're not satisfied.
Well when I say Crust I mostly mean Blackened Crust or Black Metal/Crust. Stuff like
Skitsystem
Iskra
Malveillance
So far the only more plain Crust I like is
Amebix
Discharge
However lets not to forget Panopticon's ICBM cover.

every genre of music has breakdowns
[editline]penis[/editline]
on topic (not sure what hardcore means exactly):
Circle Takes The Square
Rolo Tomassi
Genghis Tron
Celeste
Ah i see. I was just checking if you really meant like real Hardcore Punk.
Yea the Word Alive is a great band. Looking forward to their debut Album. I just got a T-shirt of theirs signed on Sunday :P If you like the Word Alive, Id say In Fear and Faith is worth a shot.

I tend to listen to a lot of stuff that can be put into these genres, but most of it is stuff that people rag on a lot, like Of Mice & Men, In Fear and Faith, Our Last Night, Broadway, Chiodos, Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa etc.
But I think more people need to listen to Parkway Drive

[editline]03:48PM[/editline]
As mentioned above, Ghengis Tron is awesome, I particularly like Asleep on the Forest Floor
Parkway Drive are good.
But know who just own?
Sabertooth Zombie.

I have listened to those for a while and like them, but have moved to alot of more underground music. You'll do the same, I got tired of scene kids saying that they knew them first, so I started going to local shows and have a better appreciation for underground bands now.
Here is a few good Ghengis Tron Songs

You'd be right if it wasn't such a pain for me to go to shows. I do appriciate a lot of bands that nobody has heard of, but its definitely difficult.
Genghis Tron is good :buddy: First time listening to them. Heard of em before though
And tbh I don't think we can have a hardcore thread without Black Flag and Napalm Death

My personal favourite Napalm Death song:

Obligatory "Scum" post

They play it live as well! :buddy:

All I heard was generic wank and even more generic predictable fucking breakdowns.
Give me more so i can laugh harder.
Although the drummer for To the Lions has an impressive beard.
Seriously those were fucking awful, that last one sounded exactly like attack attack - stick stickly, the 1st and second sound like every other generic shitty band who seem to think breakdowns are the coolest shit since sliced fucking bread and the next part man, oh man, oh god the next part.
SYNTHS
FUCKING SYNTHS
SYNTHS DON'T DO SHIT FOR A BREAKDOWN
Seriously what uncreative fuck thought "how can we make this interesting again? OH I FUCKING KNOW WE'LL PUT SOME SYNTH OVER IT!"
THEN WORSE STILL!!
SOMEONE THOUGHT "THIS IS AMAZING I'LL KILL THE ORIGINALITY BY THIEVING THE IDEA!!

I respect your opinion, but I love it. All of it.
there are already two active hardcore threads we don't need three

I think parkway are metalcore brohamian
although they always say that they're a hardcore band, I think the result is obvious v:v:v
Also to OP, I like melodic hardcore, I'm trying to expand my hardcore related music tastes

Yeah, but they draw more influence from hardcore than most metalcore bands.
