So i dont get banned - General

Im new to these forums, and i see stuff like this wen someone gets banned: (User was permabanned for this post ("gimmick troll" - GunFox)) Can someone tell me what that means, and the others please? Thanks

Gunfox for example is the name of the mod who banned whoever permabanned (permanant ban) "gimmick troll" is the reason for the ban

i think he wants to know what a "gimmick troll" is, and to be honest, none of us know, you can get banned for anything and everything, jsut hope you dont get banned, but there are some things that will get you banned, talking about warez (ie saying you have some, suggesting it to others or posting a link) and calling garry a fag (which he is not) if it's not in the OIFY which i suggest you never enter, ever. so yeh, just try to keep alow profile.

Basically, post normally, and watch out for when people are banned. Normally it comes from memes, or other frequent stupidity, such as making puns on the news. You will quickly work out what is 'right' and what is 'wrong'. Good luck!

For example, making simple questions like these in General Discussion is a ban waiting to happen. For those small questions, you want to go to Fast Threads.

"Gimmick troll" is for doing things like making an account named George W. Bush and only making threads about the Iraq War. If you do that, trust me, you deserve the ban.

however, you also get away with pretty much everything, you can be racist if you so please, sometimes you will be banned, others not so much, you can swear, do petty much anything, you may or may not be banned, it's like a lottery, where you don't want your numbers to come up :D

Welcome to the forums. Also, never post in a ban-me thread, you will get banned, no matter what. If you know its a banme thread, like you say "lul postin in a banmu thread", your gonna get perma'd. If it was an accident, I don't know the amount of time the ban will be, it varies from mod to mod.

Make a thread saying how much you hate British people, other than that use your common sense. I.E Don't troll (much.) Don't be racist (in an obvious manner) You can call people a fag here, that doesn't seem to bother the mods anymore. Though you can still get banned for flaming. Use fast threads for short answer threads like this. AND NEVER NEVER ASK FOR PICTURES OF POSTAL'S ASS.

Thanks[/QUOTE] Gimmick troll means joining the forums only for the reason of trolling. Trolling is pretty much(I may be wrong on this) saying things to gauge peoples'(negative) reactions. Much like making a topic in a Furry custom forum about how wrong furries are, or saying, "I think my dad is gay" when you really don't.

not that making a topic in the furry custom forum about how wrong furries are will get you banned, seeing as mods don't go there :p
