His last day at the Japanese developer was Saturday, March 15. The producer departed the studio with intent to open a new development studio. "I've decided to break out on my own to have the freedom to make the kind of games I really want to make -- the same kind I think fans of my past games want as well," Igarashi told IGN. "Leaving Konami was a big decision, and not one I took lightly – I’ve spent my entire career there, made many friends, and had a lot of great opportunities – but I hope all the gamers and fans who have supported me in the past will join me in being excited about what comes next. Wish me luck!”[/quote] Damnit no more Castlevania 1999. Awaiting for Kickstarter. But atleast new metroidavania games.
whats with all the talent leaving major studios.
Cause most of them are sinking ships that are killing their main engines.
It really is a sad state of affairs, but at least it's great to know that these producers and directors still care about making great games and the quality of beloved IPs. This is the type of person I'd always hoped these people were like, and it's great to know it was true.
incoming castlevania successor kickstarter. Fuck konami by the way they suck balls and so does the new castlevania games.
I think the reaction to the least castlevania game made this happen. Good graphics + bad story does not equal a good game

Maybe Konami didn't want to give Igarashi control of Castlevania again, so he left
