The new quest hits Sept. 15, the same day as The Taken King, for people with a Red Bull code. If you don't have a code, you'll have to wait until after Jan. 1. The goodies can be grabbed via a code found inside cans of Red Bull designed to include images of both Destiny and eSports gamer Michael "Flamesword" Chaves, a member of OpTic Gaming.
http://www.polygon.com/2015/6/24/8837695/destiny-gets-new-quest-you-just-need-to-pop-open-a-red-bull-or-wait
The goodies can be grabbed via a code found inside cans
This seems really impractical, unless they've found some way to make it not.
Just another weird ass thing for Bungie to do. They really seem to be struggling.

Destiny shouldn't be worth $60 if they're going to be adding all this shit-tastic DLC for it. I don't care about how good your game is (or rather, how shitty it looks in this case), I'm not shelling out $100+ for your game and picking up cases of Red Bull. What's infinitely worse is that people play Destiny and enjoy eating the bullshit served to them, as it seems.

Was just missing a (C) or (TM) at the end to be perfect.

"Red Bull gives you wings!" Flamesword exclaimed, his grin belying those ever-present screams of the damned that only he could hear- constantly echoing from some place far away, from that place his soul now lay.
Just another weird ass thing for Bungie to do. They really seem to be struggling.
They wouldn't be struggling if they didn't make a shit game.
Bungie has gone from making some of my favorite games to just being a blip on the radar when they announce something stupid, which is pretty often. And I don't honestly see them regaining their status.
Just another weird ass thing for Bungie to do. They really seem to be struggling.
They spent 500 million on this shit game, of course they're struggling
The core game of Destiny is fine, but the progression padding, low content and patch/DLC situation are the biggest faults the game has. Destiny could have very well been something really fun if they actually made the game that Destiny looks like it should be instead of whatever comes out of the enigmatic decision processing machine behind closed doors at Bungie studios. I see no logic to the game they have made, every decision has just been absurd.
They wouldn't be struggling if they didn't make a shit game.
Or if they didn't make a fucking console exclusive multiplayer MMO fps or whatever it wants to be. Release it on the PC and maybe that will breathe some new life into it

The base game is okay, but compared to the Halo series, I feel like Bungie just completely forgot what makes a shooter fun. I really think making Destiny a Lite-MMO is the main culprit behind the change because it's just lame. Every time I played Destiny, it felt like I was just wandering around shooting dumb AI bullet sponges that stand out in the open which take clips and clips of ammo to take down. The HUB worlds feel boring, and I prefer the more structured maps from Halo, which really made it feel like you were progressing through the world and seeing new stuff (Not to mention allowing awesome setups like taking down Scarabs armed with ATVs and Rocket Launchers). Playing through the campaign missions in Destiny was the most dull experience of 2014. I only wish I didn't buy the collector's edition...
Destiny could be fixable in the sequel if they focused on the story and fun rather than mimicking MMOs. Sadly this is likely not happening.
It weirds me the hell out that Destiny is as popular as it is considering how empty it is. There isn't all that much in the way of progression or content from what I played, you're just left to replay the same missions/strikes/etc after you clear everything, yet there are apparently people "addicted" to it. I don't get it, it just seems soul-rending.

Call me a cynic, but from what I've seen with the consumer base of video games, they sure put up with a lot of bullshit. They don't put their foot down. They don't go out of their way to not only boycott the DLC, but the initial game itself. They care enough to complain, but they don't care enough to stop pre-ordering bullshit and jerking off the game industries with wads of cash. The most powerful thing you can do to gain a voice and have an effect is to stop paying for shit you won't or don't like. Stop trusting the game industry with pre-orders. Stop trusting the game industry by buying on the release day. Start researching games before you give them your money. No one does this enough. Bungie does this because they know they'll get away with it. And even if they aren't, others companies are totally doing it and making tons of cash. When you accept bullshit, you're letting the companies know it's okay to fuck you.
Even Techland is making fun of Bungie. EDIT 1: And just because I love this thread so much! [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/AhupylO.jpg[/img_thumb]
Not only do they make you buy it, they make you drink it :v:
There is a relevant 4chan image for this, Mt Dew verification cans, but I would rather not risk a ban
People like holding down the trigger button at the same boss for 20 minutes apparently.
AAA games marketed to the fans of Cookie Clicker, a risky move.
Another game that was not worth what it was, according to my little brother. Drink verification can to play quest Become the legend(tm) by having a heart attack before finishing the quests
I'm not going to lie, I'm somewhat surprised this games still alive, I heard so much bad shit about it during the month it came out and shortly after that I figured it crashed and burned.
I'm not going to lie, I'm somewhat surprised this games still alive, I heard so much bad shit about it during the month it came out and shortly after that I figured it crashed and burned.
people still play it due to how good the gunplay is and grinding. only reasons seriously
Bad timing by Bungie. BWU better fix up what's going on, or else Destiny will die.
