Alright, denizens of the Music sub-forum, I have a decently simple question:
Could you guys help me find more songs, and just music in general that sounds a little something like this?

I just need to find more music that has that dark, sinister sort of southern twang that sounds oh so incredible!
Roger Waters' first solo album "The Pros And Cons Of Hitch-hiking" has Eric Clapton on guitar, and he uses this technique extensively throughout:

That is a very atmospheric and down to earth style rather than being a southern style.
I get your idea though and its a great album.

I recommend Seasick Steve...
His music isn't particularly the dark slow guitar you are looking for, however it is still awesome in terms of his instrumentals.
