And that is exactly what he is doing. On the shore of Lake Geneva, this brilliant, eccentric scientist is building an artificial mind. A Swiss - it could only be Swiss - precision- engineered mind, made of silicon, gold and copper. The end result will be a creature, if we can call it that, which its maker believes within a decade may be able to think, feel and even fall in love.

Looking forward to my future, remotely controlled, fembot wife.
It'll be like Terminator/Matrix :byodood: I wonder what you'd use it for other than just a sextoy.
Fucking awesome. Not so good if it falls into the wrong hands once it's super advanced.
Fucking awesome. Not so good if it falls into the wrong hands once it's super advanced.
That depends. If they manage to make it see the difference in right or wrong actions, I don't think it will be that risky.
what could go wrong [editline]05:44AM[/editline] Don't show it the internet.
Don't show it the internet.
Very strict browsing filter is recommended.
Well then they better be nice to it or it will get pissed off and do something bad :tinfoil: I'm looking forward to the results
Perhaps this is the future of warfare. Intelligent machines. And not just warfare, humanity as a whole. An AI will be mankind's last invention. By that I mean they will take over scientific progress and engineering tasks. I, for one, welcome our new machine overlords.
Robot dystopia, here we come!
It sure could prove useful as a lab assistant/security guard/whatever.
Machines created by humans will never be more intelligent than humans.
Machines created by humans will never be more intelligent than humans.
If they are allowed to gain conciousness, they will be able to evolve like humans do , but only in a terrifying faster rate, so in fact they WILL get more intelligent
I'll buy one
Will it feel a psychological impact that could cause it to create a better self when it crushes it's sex partner?
I'm pretty sure this raises like... hundreds of moral and ethical questions. Hopefully this might give us some more insight into the nature of consciousness if it works.
We're dead.
So many sexbot jokes

The finished product will consist of nothing more than software and hardware.
It sure could prove useful as a lab assistant/security guard/whatever.
Oh god, no. Self aware robots with weapons? I'm pretty sure we know how that turns out...
Its all going to be downhill from here....
That depends. If they manage to make it see the difference in right or wrong actions, I don't think it will be that risky.
Someone could easily take that snippet of code out.
He needs a CM5 Thinking Machine. Nothing says awesome more than 1024 processors doing shit.
By 2018 ? Is that a random timescale or something. [editline]06:12PM[/editline] He looks a bit like Hasselhof
That depends. If they manage to make it see the difference in right or wrong actions, I don't think it will be that risky.
That doesn't stop humans from committing atrocities, Why would this be different?
Fuck, here comes Skynet.
That doesn't stop humans from committing atrocities, Why would this be different?
Because a sentient machine could not be delusional. It'd base its decisions on logical reasoning.
Because a sentient machine could not be delusional. It'd base its decisions on logical reasoning.
And that logical reason would be that humans are a lesser being and must be terminated to prevent the shut down of said sentient machine. Enter the T-800. :v: If you can't tell, I'm joking.
I can't wait, seriously this is some cool shit!
