Being an average teenage student I find it hard to concentrate on tedious subjects and lately have been looking for a boost to help me study. I find caffeine to be almost completely useless and normal revision methods just don't cut it for me. I don't expect any miracles but even a small improvement in concentration would be worth it before an exam and I've been looking at the likes of Adrafinil. It seems to have a pretty good reputation but I don't know about getting anything like that from an online retailer without knowing if they are legit. I've heard Modafinil is better but that requires a prescription in the UK :smith:
Anybody had any experience with any smarts or got any other ideas??
Do you know anyone with ADHD who has ritalin-like medicine, I know a few people who refuse to take it and sell it readily, so chances are you will.

:frown: 'fraid not.. would that really help a great deal anyway?
Ephedrine perhaps? In lower doses it's supposed to be very concentration boosting, like amphetamine.

My friend takes modafinil and he didn't get a prescription. If you don't mind it being delivered to your house it's easy enough to get online
You could always try and get diagnosed

I have a feeling that will not happen

Hmm.. Not to fond of the side affects really..

It's just finding a decent site really
http://www.qhi.co.uk/list.asp?c=Specialised They sell both moda and Adrafinil (Moda being alot more expensive) but I don't know wether to trust the site. There is Adrafinil (Olmifon) on Ebay but I don't think that could sound much more of a worse idea.
Does anybody know of a reliable site where i can get these?
2C-I (and possibly other members of the 2C family) is a nootropic at low doses. These are pretty easy to find drugs so maybe try that.

Yeah, you know why they refuse to take it? Because Ritalin sucks a bag of dicks
Adderall is where it's at
I agree with Anubis, Adderall is the best thing for studying or tedious tasks and personally I can say its not that hard to get a prescription for it.
I never have a bad comedown from adderall either.
If you take low of addy, you shouldn't have.
I don't think i'd be able to get a prescription for adderall either...
I know this looks really bad but could it be worth a go?

Is it really? It's a class A drug in the UK.

I'm in the UK too, seriously it is fucking easy as hell. Spend 5 minutes on Google and you can have a few suppliers. www.safeorscam.com to check if they are legit shit.

How affective are 2C's as nootropics? I think Adrafinil might be my best bet atm

My google's blocked or someshit because for the past 6 months i've been trying to find a 2C vendor and all the links i find on google just lead to dodgy chinese sites where the minimum is like 300gs or something.
Wow made theirs first. Holy shit I didn't even realize, lol
I have obtained some adrafinil and have just taken 300mg, will be going to lessons in about an hour. Will post back anything i notice.
Piracetam works well and is actually easy to find...
On the subject of 2C's as nootropics, 2C-C or 2C-D would work the best.
2C-C is highly unlikely to be effective as a nootropic. 2C-D would likely be effective in low doses though.
I say this due to the fact that 2C-C is a mushroom analogue and it's really not advisable to be dosing on strong psychedelics to improve your smarts.
2C-C is a phenethylamine, a mescaline analogue.
I have heard people claim that the 2Cs are effective as nootropics in small doses.
For example, someone said that he found 2-4mg of 2C-E to be useful both as an anti-depressant and a nootropic

adderall fucking sucks compared to dexedrine.
dexedrine is better.

and it's not hard at all to get a ritalin or concerta prescription. just go to your doc and say you got a bunch of symptoms of adhd
The best way is to describe your condition is to say it's uncomfortable or hurts to concentrate.
that's how my adhd is, and if you don't have any apparent hyperactivity it's a pretty good way to get some sweet meds.

I find anecdotes hugely unreliable when discussing drugs. The results in placebo of double-blind studies prove this. 60% of people using antidepressants find it helps them, in PLACEBO. This is retarded and shows how pointless anecdotes are in judging drug effectiveness.
I personally believe psychedelics are not going to be all that effective as nootropics. They're certainly going to be difficult to dose effectively day by day. I can vouch for piracetam though. It's great for my dyspraxia and almost entirely cures it. Dyspraxia is one of the conditions it is purported to treat.
i can't say i noticed anything other than a mild buzz really. I felt more awake i guess but i'm not really sure i could concentrate any better than usual. What i'm interested to know is what is meant by only taking them on an empty stomach? Like, for example, If you were to take one in the afternoon could you eat breakfast? I had one in the morning but i skipped breakfast, i just want to try one later on but i'm not sure how empty your stomach actually has to be since i've heard it doesn't work atall if you've eaten

I disagree with what you're saying about placebo. This is a situation where the effects of the drug will have a direct effect on his work output. If it's placebo, his concentration won't change. If it works, his concentration will improve.
And even if it is placebo, and it works, what's the problem? He got what he wanted, even if it's all in his head.
Placebo can actually increase your concentration. It's unbelievably powerful. The part of the brain that controls placebo actually releases dopamine in cokeheads who watch other people take coke as their body has conditioned itself to believe they'll be high soon. I still don't like saying a drug works just because it's placebo, it could be sugar and still work, but that's psychosomatic and individual.
I'm not saying psychedelics are useless as nootropics. Shulgin himself suggested that 2C-D may be an effective nootropic at threshold doses but 2C-D is at least a stimulant as well. 2C-E is a strong psychedelic and agonism of 5-HT2A is unlikely to help with your maths homework.
